"Been trying to live here for two semesters now, They've never answered one of my calls, or called me back. They also have only answered an email from me after I came into the office in person to ask if I had bad contact info. Its been a month since I last heard from them. I'd judge it to be a fairly difficult application process considering (and I sent in my application info the day it opened), but maybe others have a better experience. Not sure about the resident experience, I'll update this if I ever find out."
"Great social atmosphere with basketball, pickle-ball, volleyball, and swimming readily available. Only complaint is that the bed is 8 inches shorter than a standard twin bed. I don’t even know how they found a mattress so short. Probably comfy if you’re 5’6” Update: Bed was replaced in a timely manner"
"I lived at the colony for a couple of months and enjoyed it. The apartments are old but that's typical for student housing. I'm giving it 2 stars because the homie in the office was not easy to work with. Very angsty woman who was fairly poor at communicating. Definitely look for availability at other complexes before reaching out to this one."
"Office manager, owner and maintenance are all helpful and vested in making the property a great place to live. Close to BYU campus, good parking and amenities. Reasonable rates. Many students stay for multiple years. Great experience this year!"
"A few years ago the colony was a great deal for the price. When I lived here in 2020 the landlord had an effective maintenance crew who responded to most repair issues within the week, or within the day of urgent. These are clearly old units, but were given regular repairs or facelifts, including a landlord special on doors while I was there. There is a pool and hot tub, but only for a few months during the summer. As soon as a minimum temperature is reached they are both drained for the season. Parking is hit or miss in Provo, but for a $45/semester fee, it was guaranteed at the colony. I paid $385 for rent and utilities in a 4 person unit. Units for 6 were $365. At this price they were 4/5 star apartments. Two years later, the price is more than I pay for a newer, better furnished unit, with only 3 tenants closer to campus. With utilities and rent at a $435 for 6 people and $465 for 4, I can no longer recommend the colony. I suspect, along with these prices, parking rates will have gone up as well. It seems like the management are probably good businesspeople, but not actually good people. If their property will bear a higher price, they will charge it."
