"I recently moved out of Center Pointe after living there for 3 years and it was a good place to live. The apartments are decent and have most of the things you need (except for a washer/dryer). Most of the apartments have been renovated and are in good condition. It honestly depends on who was living there before and how well past tenants have kept it. One of the best things about living there is how close you are to campus and to Smith’s. The ward I was in was awesome too. Another good thing was that the front office did well to answer all the questions and concerns I had. They also have a gym and recreation center and those were fun to use as well. One of things that were not so great was it took over 2 years to fix a leak in our ceiling. There ended up being a part that needed replacing but most of the maintenance people kept putting plaster over it and it would be leaking again every 2 months. Another thing that wasn’t great was the internet. It wasn’t horrible but everyday at around the same time the internet would randomly stop working. Also our Roku TV would randomly just disconnect from the internet when we’d be watching a a show and it would take 10-15 min to get it working again. Also there is no central A/C and it makes it VERY difficult to sleep/live in the apartment during the summer time. The thing that was the absolute worst was cleaning checks. The problem was consistency. For the most part, I feel like the inspectors are lenient and do their job well. Then there are some weeks while I was living there where the inspector is really strict for some reason and fails jobs that were done the same way previously. Not to mention, when you fail a cleaning check you have to pay money for it (at least, they charged me for the first fail I had) so it seems like at that point you are paying a fine for inconsistent inspecting. One time I cleaned the stove and they failed me for it, I cleaned it the exact same way for them to check again and then they passed me. Another frustrating thing about that is that sometimes they don’t tell you what you missed on the job if they fail you. Overall, Center Pointe is a good place to live because of its location and good living spaces. Center Pointe is a bit on the expensive side but I think they charge more because of access to a gym and recreation center (compared to other places who are similarly priced and have a washer/dryer but no gym and recreation center). I also think that Center Pointe does have good management but can be inconsistent at times with the cleaning checks. Thanks for all the memories Center Pointe!"
"I honestly have been pretty patient, but there’s been one problem right after the other, first I move in and it’s evident cleaning checks haven’t been done in a long time or that they don’t actually make sure the apartments are clean, then when they come to deep clean the apartment they don’t give any notice and I got walked in on changing and in the bathroom as I wasn’t expecting it, then after that they replaced the much needed shower and what was supposed to be a day or two took a over a month to finish the whole project, and we were without a shower for a week, after leaving that whole mess they assured us they would come back in and clean up the mess they made, they never did, we did the best we could but the carpet is a mess as they left dust everywhere, finally after that whole ordeal I was finally planning on being able to relax, nope there was a sewage backup so they turned the water off for like 3 days, which meant no drinking water, no shower, and made it difficult to get ready. They gave one free month of rent, but with what my experience has been, they need to do a lot more than that, to start with cleaning the carpet they messed up."
"There was mold in our shower when we moved in and we have had infrequent warm water. Couldn't even use the shower for the first week until they came and cleaned it because of how dirty it was. We have had to submit over 5 maintenance requests when only living here for 3 months so far. Parking lot is so small, people are parking halfway on the sidewalk so people can drive through. Walls are so thin, I can hear the girl next door sing at night or even basic conversations."
"The apartment itself is pretty decent, and in a good location. But the staff has been less than helpful. When I moved in all of the blinds in my bedroom were broken, half of them not even hanging up. I submitted work orders 3 times, but I have now had no blinds for over a month. (This is especially concerning because I live on the ground floor, and my bedroom window looks right into a girls apartment building, so they can see right into my room at all times of day.) The staff keeps saying they are waiting on a supplier, but there has been no effort to look for a different supplier to get this "high priority" job completed. The apartment also was not cleaned prior to move-in."
"I currently live at Center Pointe and enjoy it enough. The apartments are clean and recently renovated. Management has also slowly been switching out old appliances for new ones in the last year. The location is good and there is a lot of space inside the apartments. However, there are some major cons. The new rent is overpriced for what you're getting and their contract keeps you there for a whole year and it's not always easy to sell. The parking lot is too small and a total mess and sometimes the owners/management are not the most helpful. But overall it's a decent place to live."
