"I’ve lived in Slate Canyon apartments since July of 2022. While living here I’ve dealt with major plumbing problems, major leak problems that happened 3 times while in the same spot!! They had to come cut a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom to try a fix the he problem but it NEVER got fixed and I was left with a hole in the ceiling. Ive had a drunk man try to walk into my apartment thankfully my dogs scared him off, I’ve had my car broken into. There’s ALOT of druggies in the apartment complex and just rude neighbors not to mention the new manager is beyond rude and unprofessional!!! I paid rent for October 2023 put it in the same spot (mailbox) that I was told to do for a year of living there never had an issue until she took over. She claimed she never received my rent gave me an eviction notice saying I had three days to pay it or vacate. I went to my bank got receipts that I did pay the rent explained exactly where I put the rent and still insisted I pay October rent again since she never got it. I don’t understand how you lose a check when it’s never been an issue EVER before unless she’s very unorganized. Do not waste your time at Slate Canyon the environment and customer care isn’t work it!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I want to share my honest experience living in this apartment complex. While they claim to offer low-income housing, I urge you to explore other options as there are more affordable places available. One concerning aspect is buried in the contract on page 2, where it's stated that they have the legal right to increase your rent with just a 5-day notice. Shockingly, they've increased my rent twice within a month of signing a contract. I encourage you to verify this with current tenants, as it's a troubling reality. Another issue is their responsiveness to maintenance requests. They tend to give you the runaround when it comes to fixing things, and I've personally experienced issues with clogged drains and non-functional AC units every summer. The carpets are old and haven't been replaced, and instead of addressing the real problems, they seem to prioritize superficial fixes like painting over dirty walls and tubs. Please, speak to current tenants to get a clearer picture before considering this apartment complex. In the past six months, this complex has had five different property managers, a clear indication of their struggle to retain employees, likely due to low pay. Unfortunately, the current manager exhibits inhumane and rude behavior, making the living experience even more challenging. Why would I talk to the person on-site if she has poor communication skills. Ask your tenants."
"Mark from Peak Living has always been very responsive, professional, and kind. Having worked in residential property management - I have experience with all kinds of contractors, employees, tenants, property owners, etc. and I am very impressed with him."
"This is a horrible place to place to live. It is completely overpriced for a worn out, roach infested, overcrowded, no amenity, rude unprofessional management apartment complex. The maintenance guy is only there twice a week, if lucky, and you can have a non-working appliance for over two months before he shows. We called the emergency line when the upstairs apartment flooded ours with toilet water and it took them three weeks to respond. You are not allowed to exist outside of the walls of your apartment without threats of eviction, which is the only proactive form of communication from management. We had many things stolen while living there, neighbors are extremely loud with paper thin walls, there is no storage spaces at all, and dog feces covering the entire lawn. And best of all, our neighbor was shot in his apartment."
"We have loved living here. There was a recent change in ownership that was a little rocky but since then it has been great. PROS: - The maintenance guy is as on top of it as he can be but he maintains more than one complex, so I can' be too hard on him. - The apartments themselves are fairly spacious for small families (my spouse & I, 3yo, baby) and they are kept in great condition. - There is two play areas for children & lots of kids in the complex to play with. - Washer & dryer hookups in each apartment CONS: - The manager is extremely hard to get in touch with and even if you do, she isn't very helpful. - I have heard another tenant complain that their water heater kept going out (and that management was hard to work with about it) but that hasn't happened once to us. - The walls are thin enough where if you're quiet, you can hear your neighbor's television or talking. - Rent has gone up $100 since we have lived here for 2 years. Overall, I would recommend these apartments for families of 5 or smaller."
