Reviews of Carriage Cove Apartments
"I want to report the horrible management that Carriage Cove Apartments has and the poor treatment. Since the last week of December 2023, I tried to buy the rental contract that someone was selling there. I contacted the seller to purchase it and was redirected to the official Carriage Cove website to fill out an application and pay a deposit to secure my spot. I immediately completed the application and paid $368 on January 3, 2023. I went to the office 2 times to see what further steps I could complete to expedite the process and quickly close the deal. They gave me so many problems with the references, since they said that they did not answer and they made me waste valuable time trying to look for the specific references that they wanted. After finishing the exhaustive process, when everything was ready, I received an email notifying me that someone had already purchased the contract and that they would leave me on the waiting list. I immediately went to the office and the receptionist, a certain Logan, told me that if the person did not pay before 5:00 pm it could be mine. So I thanked him for that information, and when he was about to leave the office, both of them started laughing at me and said: Some people can be so ridiculous! I had never felt discriminated against because of my race or my English before in Utah. This was the first time and I felt extremely offended and hurt. I behaved like a Christian and decided to get out of there without arguing, knowing that in any case I still had a chance to buy the lease. When there were 15 minutes before 5:00 Pm I was at the bus stop under the snow to go pay and them sent me an email saying that I would not buy the lease because they had already sold it, knowing how urgent it was. I was about to find a new home. A few days ago, I asked them to refund my money since. They refunded the money but I had a bad experience there."
"I have lived here for the past two years and my experience here has been great. In the time I have been living here, the management has been very willing and responsive to help with my needs. I have a friend who recently moved into my apartment who is from Honduras. The leasing agent there was super helpful in getting everything arranged especially because he has Mexican family and was able to communicate with my friend in Spanish which was super helpful. Overall, very clear in their expectations and very willing to work with everyone they can according to their needs."
"I read some of these reviews and it shocks me at what people say about their management. Yes, things aren't perfect but I have been impressed at the management here. I have gone to them for multiple things and they ALWAYS worked with me and wanted to help. The cleaning checks were not that difficult. They give you a paper to follow and if you followed the paper, it's an easy pass. Everyone in my apartment passed. All in all, Carriage Cove has been amazing! Highly recommend!"
"Great place to live. Rooms are pretty spacious, great location, and it’s affordable. Beware that it’s impossible to pass a cleaning check no matter how many hours you spend cleaning but that’s only 3 or 4 times a year so it’s not too bad, just know that you’ll fail. Don’t count on getting your security deposit back, they’ll keep most of it."
"The sad thing is that I liked my apartment and I thought it was a good little setup. The shuttle made the distance from campus not a big deal. The rooms are private and pretty big. The pool was nice (although it seemed like it was closed for 80% of my year there lol). Unfortunately it’s not as good value as you might think by looking at rent alone. You pay separately for parking and they sell more passes than there are spots. I worked until midnight every night and found myself parking in the neighborhood next to carriage cove basically every night despite the 100 dollars I spent on a parking pass. You can’t expect timely responses to maintenance requests. Our air conditioning was completely out for about a week in July before someone came out to us. It was like 82 degrees in the apartment which made it basically unlivable for that week. Cleaning checks are outrageous and basically impossible to pass. My roommates and I would spend hours cleaning our apartments and we would fail every time which resulted in (you guessed it) extra charges from management. We didn’t receive a key to our mailbox when we moved in which resulted in us having to pay a lot of money for our mailbox to be rekeyed. Carriage Cove basically just said “that’s not our business that the previous tenants didn’t give back their key”. ?? Seems like it probably should be ?? Management will squeeze every penny out of you that they can and they will not show sympathy. The management team is routinely short and irritable with tenants who come in looking for help. If you look at it like rent is $500/month, it’ll basically even out. I think it’s a shame that there’s not many better options in Provo because of the surplus of people who think it is okay to make their living off of screwing kids."
