"Son has been there 3 years. No issues until this last year with new management company. Little to no warning of changes for more money. Ie pet policy change, gave 5 day notice to charge more money. Changed from utilities included to any overage will be split accordingly. Tell me how each person is being charged $88 overage fees for electric. You're telling me that a 600 Sq ft appt has a $400 dollar bill each month since the change! No answers from the apartment complex. Now a 10 day notice over the holidays that if you're paying with a card .... you will be charged a transaction fee! But also, we closed the front office on the weekends so pay in cash early! Used to recommend this apartment complex but won't anymore! Stay far away! Signed a parent that still pays for their child's living expenses"

"We all talked and finally agreed a 1 star was at least human, we are after all doing the survey.. for those people trying to decide apartments..GO ELSEWHERE. We occupied an apt for 2 years… 1st year was amazing. ZERO ISSUES… the second ALIGHT took over… communication was shut off, prices went up, security went down. Upon moving out they (without ANY clear communication) prorated utilites!! Keep in mind we are moving out.. Thankfully we stand in solidarity… and refuse (what even THEY seem to to know) is wrong. Alight ai terrible… promise."

"Only have lived here for a year, I can say that management is mediocre to terrible. Repairs and work orders barely go through with success. (They’ll mark your work orders as completed when it’s not) There’s plenty of bug issues. You’re not getting a good parking spot because they let anyone park here as the gates stay wide open 24/7. And be ready to face an eviction order if you miss the 1 email they send to remind you to pay, because lord help them they won’t simply call, they want to instead waste 250-500 dollars processing an eviction case just to scare you into paying. I have never encountered such a pathetic, stingy attempt at reminding someone to pay rent. With all that in mind, and you still want to live here, always check your email, I know it’s 2023 and no college student is checking their email, but this company’s management is ran by a bunch of idiots, and they’ll believe an email sent is a reminder ignored. Also have a towtruck on hand to remove any unregistered vehicle from parking so you can secure your spot."

"Overall my time at Alight 12 Ave was a good experience. A few issues with maintenance request over time. To get things fixed I had to call and follow up on a regular basis and parking was unfortunately kinda hard at times but they are normal great and as helpful as they can be and I would recommend this complex for Student Housing"

"This is a one star review despite the five stars above!!!! The management is deceptive and took the 1200 dollar deposit from and underage student. Made them sign a contract while underage and kept the exorbitantly high deposit and added several hundred dollars to that for cleaning fee!!!! I wish I made 1900 dollars for cleaning an apartment! They use scare tactics to get the extra money and as far as I have heard keep all deposits from all students no matter if left clean or dirty. Is there no help for students in this complex? Can they just do whatever they want? So far, I say yes! Who will stand up to these tyrants? I have spoken with other management companies and they do not do business that way. It is a known fact that Alight uses this tactic and will not give back deposits if they can run up charges and get by with it. Where is the justice?"
