Hampton Inn Salt Lake City/Layton

"They are plenty of positives things about the hotel yet this was my worst night of sleep at an Hampton Inn due to the poor, cheap and hard mattress. If you are sensitive about mattress, this it not the place for you. My back hurt for a day. I mentioned it at the reception in the morning. The staff didn’t seem surprised and mentioned that the mattresses are in the planning to be upgraded. The pool is pretty nice for kids but the spa area currently closed. No notice at booking. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The rooms at the back of the building have a pleasant view in the mountains. The breakfast is basic standard Hampton Inn. No extra… not even 0 sugar syrup. The dining area is pleasant and has pretty good light through the day and fairly quiet if you have work to be done."

"I stayed at Layton Hampton Inn for four weeks this past January. Check-in was a breeze they were very accommodating to me. Nice linens, towels and bathroom amenities. I had a queen suite, the bed was very comfortable. A little living room area with a loveseat and a second TV. There is a sink, coffee maker, microwave, fridge. I found the breakfast buffet to be good. With fresh fruit, a few options of cereal, some type of egg every day and different sides. There is a waffle station and 24 hour coffee. Housekeeping is done every few days. The housekeepers were awesome, very nice. Convenient freeway access and dozens of restaurants near the hotel. Every aspect of my stay was as much as I could hope for. I needed some things printed in the front desk was happy to do that. I really liked my stay and would recommend the Hampton to everyone. If I'm in that area again I hope to stay at the Hampton."

"Great place to stay for a rest. Unfortunately, the hot tub was broken, but the workout room and pool are adequate to get in a nice workout or have some fun. It has a Peloton if that sways you either way. The breakfast was superb with hot and cold items, not sure basic pasties and carbs, but well made omelets with real cheese, sausage links, and potatoes. The waffle batter was amazing and you had 2 choices of flavors! Staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Beds are comfy and rooms are pretty large. Would definitely stay again."

"We had a pretty unsafe experience and neither hotel management or Hilton cared enough about it to make the area safe or rectify it. We reached out to both. The parking lot of the Hampton Inn Salt Lake City/Layton’s parking lot is extremely unsafe. The parking lot has never been snow plowed even though it hasn’t snowed for several days. It is not just a giant pad of ice covering the road. I was trying to get 4 young kids inside on 1/18 and they were all slipping. My 14 year old slipped and fell in a big ice puddle and was soaking wet. I imagine you could have some big injuries happen if the road isn’t cleared. It hasn’t snowed for several days and the other parking lots at adjacent buildings are all plowed."

"I arrived early and had a request to change my booked room for that reservation. Not only did they quickly and easily change my room reservation (even though I had booked it on Expedia), but they were also able to give me a very early check-in. The service was outstanding and the rooms and common areas were all very clean and smelled clean too! The pool was not over chlorinated and I was even able to swim under water with my eyes open and no irritation! The free breakfast for our family of five was probably worth the price of one night’s stay and was delicious with several options to choose from! The dining area and lobby were both very cozy and comfortable. The lobby is a great place to wind down in front of a TV and fireplace with complimentary coffees, tea and hot cocoa! There are also magazines and a business center right there. I have traveled the world and stayed at many fine hotels. With being said, the Hampton Inn in Layton was one of my very best experiences ever at a hotel. Thank you to all of you who work there! Great job! Keep it up!"
