"What you get for a cheap apartment. Barely functional appliances, maintenance slacks and they don’t do anything about infestations."
"I’ve lived in this apartment for about a year. When I moved in last summer, I immediately noticed my stove top was broken and I told the office- the stove was never fixed. Which was whatever, I had one burner that worked so I made do. I was also informed upon moving in to my unit that my unit sometimes has water leaks from the ceiling in the hall closet. All of this stuff I could deal with. It wasn’t until just now I’ve actually been angry with my apartment complex/maintenance. With the Nebraska weather, you know sometimes it’s warm in the winter. With the location of my apartment, on the warm days my apartment would get up to 80+ degrees so I tried to run the a/c to cool off my apartment. Maintenance shut my a/c off. I complained because my apartment was 85-87 degrees. I was informed that they would turn my a/c back on in the spring. It’s now almost May, my apartment is still 85 so I called and complained. I was then informed that they forgot to turn my a/c back on and it should’ve been on a long time ago. So I’ve just been suffering in this miserable heat for months because they FORGOT to my stuff back on even after I’ve complained about it to the landlord multiple times. When the maintenance man came to fix it he said “open the sliding door.” The screen door on my unit is broken and I’m a single mom so I’m just supposed to leave my door open all the time? What about at night? What then? Also on paper my rent is supposed to be $690 but I’m charged about $730 a month because of all the admin fees here and it’s definitely not worth it."
"Some of the problems people are complaining about were before Megan took over. I was here when Howard Street Apartments was still owned by Maxx Properties, and during the Rocky shift into Lund's ownership. Shelly was awesome. She held the former maintenance staff to a standard and kept up on them. Then we got a new maintenance guy during the transition who did absolutely nothing. That's why y'all are complaining about how there is no preventative maintenance. The dude after their former head or maintenance, the one who made sure we we're okay when we moved in and kept on top of everything with Shelly, would sign off on work orders saying they were completed, but never showed. I had filed for new blinds, a closet door to be fixed, and a running toilet and sink issues... Dude told Shelly right in front of me that the blinds were fine and he came over. When I caught him and said he never did, he changed up his story to make it sound like the wrong apartment. Since Lund has taken over, I have been getting a long list of things I needed fixed... Fixed! Shelly is gone, but Megan has stepped up like a pro. She makes sure services are done and has managed to get things in order. As for the laundry machines, those ARE a third-party company and they're customer care is terrible. Don't take it out on Lund for that one. They have been crappy since Maxx owned the building. The people after Shelly and before Megan were awful. They were temps holding positions until they were permanently filled. Since then I have not had a problem! And no. This is not a "fabricated" five star. They earned this for me. I would have rated it a two star in the last few months if it wasn't for Megan. Not or mention Lund let the apartments keep their clawed cat rule, making it one of the few apartment complex in the area that I looked at that doesn't require my pet to be declawed. (I know Villa Vinea requires it and I heard mixed stuff about Loveland and the others in the immediate area so I am unsure of those.)"
"The Lund Company who manages this property is simply the Best!! But, I would like to boast on Megan, the property manager! Her customer service skills are top notch, she answered all of the questions I had, and was sincere in her responses. She genuinely cares, and isn't there to just collect a paycheck. I would totally recommend this property to everyone I know!"
"As a business it is important to make an excellent first impression. Howard Street Apartments failed to do this by not updating their call center company with new information. In their line of work this should be a daily thing if they have daily fluctuating prices and apartments available. Also, the person that was there on saturday enjoys 2-3 hour lunches making it impossible to view or find out any information regarding renting a new apartment."
