"It’s improved since Star is no longer working there. Which is fair, I think it was too stressful for her. The apts have been renovated, as well as the one elevator. People are really nice (9 out of 10) & friendly. Community Building events, pet friendly, close to Bus Stop and right across from Bus Station. Also very low rent. The Heating/AC are either one or the other at a time, never can choose between them, heat is on during the cold season, ac is on during the hot season. Only catch is monthly & annual inspections, that’s why four and not five stars."

"I applied February 2019, and got approved and moved in January 2020. The new manager is great! He is friendly, knows the tenants by name. Everytime he sees you he waves, says hi, answers questions, and so much more. Capitol House is more than a place to live. It is a community. Everyone I have encountered say hi, hold the elevator, respectful, and more. It is quiet, in the heart of down town Iowa City, secured, and I couldn't be more grateful. I am disabled and for over a year I haven't slept through the night. Here, I have slept through the night. It is a great place, beautiful views (for some), peaceful, quiet, and friendly respectful community."

"I read the post from Heather and her goonies, the comments made me laugh along with the other statements. I've been here for Four years and have personally witness the attack on the onsite manager. On two occasions. I'm surprised at the fact that the people who have wrote these things forgot they were the aggressive force that caused the manager to follow protocol. I love it here. The staff is awesome and the majority of us think the world of Starr But the simple truth is the VERY FEW that are saying mean things is because they break the rules then blame Starr and she is forced to report to her supervisors. We have a great place, we call our home."

"My mom has lived here for five years now and it is a blessing from top to bottom. Is it perfect? Nope. Are there opportunities for improvement? Yes, and the on site manager, Star, immediately addresses all issues that she has authority to and is diligent in sending tenant request and concerns to Corp. My encounters with Star have been very professional and respectful. A while back my friend and I parked in the tenant side of the building . I should have parked at the visiting lot . Because I filled out the paper for who I was visiting Star contacted my mom and let her know I needed to park in visiting or get towed and I appreciated the call! I was not offended because she is doing her job. She cares about the people and this place more than most will ever know! I'm grateful for Star helping my mom and all the other folks that she does."
