"Very convenient place for those who look for an affordable place to live in temporarily. The neighborhood is safe. The buildings are located near Walmart and the university of Iowa hospital, and it is a few minutes driving from downtown. The manager is very friendly and responsive to any complaint or request. The maintenance people are nice and diligent. The only downside of the place is that it is a bit old. However, the management compensates for that with continuous work and diligent maintenance. By the way, the street where these buildings in (W Benton St) looks great in the fall.. that's when tree leaves turn to different shades of red, orange and yellow."
"My partner and I just signed the lease for our 4th year at Seville and we couldn't be happier here. This is the only apartment I’ve lived in in Iowa City, but based on the horror stories I hear about other apartments here, I would feel confident in saying that it is probably all around the best apartment you’re going to find in Iowa City on a student budget. Location is super convenient, you can pretty easily walk to campus as well as Kinnick and the UI hospitals, and there is also a bus stop right out front. Staff and management are lovely and I have never had a single interaction with any of them that was anything but pleasant. There is an on-site pool, and a laundry room in each building. It is also super quiet, I haven’t heard neighbors once, including neighbors who have had service or ESA animals with them. They have a service come in to spray for bugs monthly, and I haven’t seen any bugs while living here. Rent payments (including auto-pay) and maintenance requests can be done online which is super convenient. All utilities besides electricity and internet are included in the rent. Our maintenance requests have always been fixed quickly, usually within 24 hours (I think there’s 24 hour on-call maintenance as well, but I’ve never used it). The only issues we have had are pretty standard for an older apartment, and have mostly related to the HVAC units in the apartment. Though these issues are somewhat frequent, they always get fixed quickly. Also, I’m not sure if they have a multi-person maintenance staff, but the older gentleman with white hair who does maintenance for the 910 building is so wonderful and sweet and deserves a raise!"
"My wife and I have lived here for 4 years and we have nothing to complain. It is a clean, very safe, cheap, no frills apartment complex run by nice managers (we have seen multiple and all were nice). You get the standard problems attached to older houses/fixtures/appliances but it's easier (at least for us) to get used to those. Maintenance requests and rent payments can be made online through their website. Also, shoutout to the nice lady in our building who decorates our mail room with season/holiday appropriate items round the year, kudos to your hard work and attention to detail."
"Stayed here for two years. Quiet and pleasant. Never had any trouble with landlords or maintenance, and I got my full deposit back. Great housing for a student who wants a quiet place to study! Easy access mailroom and washer/dryer on-site (not in-unit, the only drawback). Assigned parking and several guest spots, though sometimes not enough of them. In Iowa City you get what you pay for and this was a very pleasant stay during my time. Thank you Seville!"
"I lived here for 4 years before moving out of Iowa City and loved living here. Now that I've lived elsewhere for a few months I have realized how much of a difference it is to have friendly the maintenance staff. Within one day they replaced a motor in my AC/heater that had broken. They were also extremely quick at replacing tiles around my bathtub that had fallen down. If the maintenance head saw me in the hallway he made sure to ask how things were doing in my unit. At least in my building, the majority of tenants were graduate and professional students and international families so it was a pretty quiet community. The only reason I did not give Seville 5 stars is because the buildings are pretty old, and of course have old-building problems. I had trouble with the roof leaking during my first couple of springs (holes would get plugged as soon as I reported the leaks). However, they re-roofed the building I was in about a year before I moved out and I didn't have any issue after that. I would definitely recommend living in Seville if you want to live away from campus, but close enough that you can easily bus/ bike/ drive to downtown."
