La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport

"Missed connection. Airline provided vouchers for lodging. Property is less than 10 minutes away from Sky Harbor Airport. Bus shuttle is available starting at 5 am. The room is very basic, good for a one night stay, but not much more. The young woman at the front desk was by herself on a Tuesday night, with a long line full of weary, frustrated travelers. She did her best, but it took a long time to check in. She called everyone " My dear" and got us situated. I asked for toothbrushes and toothpaste, as our luggage was on the way home before we were. These items were promptly provided. Chinese toothpaste is something I had never used before, but it served its purpose. Had to go back downstairs because there was only 1 bath towel in the room, and there was 2 of us in a 2-double beds room. The carpet flooring was worn down. Tiles in bathroom area were dirty and there was hair (not ours) by the tub/shower and wash basin. Traces of sloppy repairs to walls and tile floor were abundant. The toilet tank cover was a piece of plastic."

"It was a bed to sleep on, let's be honest. The beds were average. Had some updated decor but other than that, very run down and sloppy. There was separation between the wall and floor. Our reservation stated we would have 2 queen beds however they were very much fulls. The shower had some interest pressure issues. Don't turn it up all the way or it'll be like showering with a fire hose. Also the floor was quite dirty in the corners and the paint on the door was curling up. Lastly, I don't know what is up with the pillows but they felt as if someone had filled a sheet with cotton balls. Overall if you need a bed to sleep on, this is the spot. Don't expect anything more. P.S. there is a pool"

"The room was filthy. Our bed had stains all over the top sheet. Maybe a large ketchup stains and some yellow splatters in different spots…i don’t even want to know.The bathroom was terrible. There were long black hairs on our towels and the toilet was zip tied together. The shower was extremely dated and water poured out onto the wooden floors. There was black mold covering the ceiling as well. Pretty much everything was filthy I would not sit on any of the furniture let alone put any belonging on them. The road is noisy and the whole setup of the hotel is sketchy and strange. The price is ridiculous for the value. Checking into the hotel took a good 30 mins minimum."

"Great location as far as distance from airport. Great service by staff. Room was dirty (carpet crunchy, stained drapes, bathroom floor had hair that was not ours as other unidentifiable items). Very noisy. I will give props for the heating/cooling, it worked well. Beds were reasonably comfortable, but not great. On upside, no bedbugs or evidence of other critters. I didn't feel the greatest security wise and would not have been comfortable staying there if the kids had been with us. If you have other options, use them. Heed the reviews; they are accurate. But staff was professional and pleasant."

"DO NOT STAY AT THIS LA QUINTA! READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. Like many of the other negative reviews indicate, I am surprised that this is a La Quinta/Wyndham property. Do not believe any of the positive reviews left for this hotel, they must be fake. The common spaces outside are dingy at best, with a lot of standing water everywhere (in Phoenix, no less), and the strong smell of mold/rot. All areas, including the elevator I used, are in disrepair and have been vandalized and not repaired. I arrived after midnight and most of the lights do not work. It is very dark. throughout the area I stayed in. The rooms are not that much different, save for the fact that the cleaning staff - at least in the room I stayed in - made an effort to 'clean' what they could, and the beds were made up very tightly- which may be why I didn't experience bed bugs, like other reviewers have mentioned. (I still kept my clothing/belongings off the floor, sealed my suitcase when not in use, and generally made sure that I did not come in contact with the floor more than necessary.) All of the reading/desk lamp light bulbs are burned out, the carpet is dingy and old, the air conditioner doesn't heat the room (the 1/4"+ gap under the door doesn't help), the bathroom/bathtub/shower are very beat up. I stayed here after a business trip to see if I could bring my family here for another trip in April. Bottom line: I will not bring my family here ever, and you shouldn't either. This is a 1-star hotel at best and should be avoided. The $177 that they charged me (the AAA rate) was a complete rip off. I am leaving early this morning as I cannot stay here any longer. No shower, not changing clothes, just leaving. I am not going to take the time to post pictures, as the other photos shared in other reviews are accurate. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!"
