"Very shady place. When I lived there, a resident committed suicide. Now a murder was committed on the grounds... I left after a few months to live on Boise State campus. I think it’s worth the extra cost to know that you're safe, and that a resident assistant will attend to any inappropriate issues like roommates smoking inside, etc."
"Lived there for two years. Amanda Hope was one of the few positive experiences I had there. She let me end my lease two and a half months early for no charge because I was moving into one of their other properties (which they no longer own, and thank God because the new owners seem to really care about the complex I live in now.) Overall: -Buy a gun, keep it close. I'm not kidding. -Only move in if you have to. -Start applying to somewhere more stable as soon as you have the chance. Like the day you move in. - It looks and feels like a prison. - My depression got much worse not long after moving in. You feel trapped here. -Moving out was one of the best days of my life. Negatives: -I waited a bit over six months to finally get a parking spot adjacent to the dumpster that constantly got stolen. I even put up my own no parking signs that helped maybe only slightly (You're welcome new owner of the spot?) Street parking is a joke and tickets are strictly enforced. Probably paid at least $200 in tickets because I was in class for 2+ hours. - It was hot as all hell and the A.C. did not reach my room. I think the vents were blocked with debris. I don't even want to think about what I was breathing in over those two years. You have no control over when the A.C. kicks in so buy a good fan and run it all the time or the room will be stagnant, hot, and collect dust like a MFer. -I got lucky matching with good roommates in the beginning, but you have no say on who moves in after a roommate moves out. The place attracts shady characters so you never know who you may end up living with, and what they will do to cost you money. -Internet is included but speeds are always throttled by bandwidth being at capacity for the area almost always. I was a student and had to directly plug in my laptop with Ethernet at least 30 hours a week to get my homework done without spending all day on campus. -Half of the mailboxes are unsecured and there are A LOT of homeless in the area. Make sure you check it everyday or the mail that fits in the box may get stolen. -Cable Tv was included in rent but our unit was never hooked up for the two years I lived there. - With 3 roomates, and such little storage and sharing a fridge, (I kept most of my food in my room, thank God for mini-fridges) you will be grocery shopping weekly. Don't take your car though because your private spot will likely be taken before you get back, and if you're parked on the street, well you can expect a 30 minute drive around the block/park to find a new spot for 2 hours. -The furniture, carpets, and appliances are disgusting. Take pictures with dates when you move in so you can prove it wasn't you that did the damage so you aren't charged for their lack of maintenance/records. -Like everything else in the complex, from laundry, the gates, mailboxes, parking, and roommates, the apartment itself was not secure. The door could have easily been broken into with a mild push. In fact, if the loose deadbolt wasn't locked you could literally touch the door and open it. Several times people would walk by and test if the door was unlocked to see if they could get in. -People in the area are SKETCH. A large homeless population stay in Ann Morrison. You don't have to look far to find drugs. There was even a murder a couple apartments away from mine at the time I lived there. Now, the positives: -Amanda was just awesome. If you respected her she returned the favor. I would rate the complex 0 stars, but with her around it deserves at least 1. -If you are new to Boise and don't know anyone, it is somewhere you can get your foot in the door with cheap rent. I wouldn't have been able to go to school here without PV as I was a nontraditional student. I learned a lot living here, and gained so much experience. -Close proximity to BSU and downtown. No need to worry about how you're getting home after a night at the bars! -There are a couple no-tow zones close by where you can park your car as long as you don't need it, but if you move it I can guarantee you the spot will be taken within minutes."
"I’ll be honest and say I have a lot of mixed feelings about this place. When I moved in, I wasn’t made aware that parking wasn’t offered to all tenants. There is enough parking for MAYBE a quarter of the tenants living here. Coming from a small town, I’ve never lived at a place that didn’t provide sufficient parking. I do finally have a spot but not a spot for anyone who wants to visit. They’ve got to pay to park in the lot across the street or use the street parking and move their car every two hours. If you’re used to this then it’s no big deal! I’m now used to it and I’m finding out it’s a lot more normal than I thought. This complex has by far the cheapest rent of all the complexes in the area which is great, but that means there is no gym or extra facilities. (Which isn’t a negative, just an observation) There are two laundry rooms that they’ve had a little trouble with but maintenance works around the clock to get all the requests done. The machines take quarters like a regular laundromat which is convenient but no change machines available so bring your own! :) My biggest complaint is the lack of security in an area where I’ve noticed there is a lot of sketchy activity. (And some of the neighbors are... odd creatures.) Cops are constantly around the area because of vagrants and drunk idiots. This is to be expected living so close to downtown but being an anxious person, I’m definitely not comfortable going out after dark. Once again, I can’t conplain because management can’t control the crazy people who live in and visit the neighborhood, and because rent is so cheap they probably can’t sfford to buy security cameras or a security system for the courtyard doors. I’d be willing to pay more for piece of Mind honestly. Now, the pluses! Most of the staff is amazing. They’re always friendly and helpful and never talk down to me. Amanda always makes sure my questions and concerns are taken care of and I’ve never had to wait more than a few days for maintenance to show up when something breaks. Since I’ve been here we have needed repairs on my bedroom sink and the kitchen sink, the garbage disposal, the back and the front door, and the stove. With each maintenance request filed they have shown up usually within a few hours. They always explain what they’re doing (or what they have done when they’re finished) and always send a service receipt to your email if you sent the request. This is an older complex so it’s not a surprise that things fall apart sometimes. The important thing is that things get fixed. I’ve lived in complexes where I paid a lot more for no help from maintenance when I needed them. All in all I’d say this place is more than worth the price."
"I don’t really know what to say or how to start this. I like living here a lot I’ve had some ups and downs with roommates but you have that just about anywhere you go The management are pretty awesome they make me laugh and they love my dog maintenance is pretty awesome too I really enjoyed the fact that they do resident week especially when they do laundry on us because we get laundry soap and we get quarters for the washer and dryer park village is pretty reasonable price I am also very comfortable living here. I like how convenient it is to ann Morrison and walking distance to downtown. Management is very understanding and they work with you if you have issues"
"The Park Village Apartments is super friendly for college students. For the location, It's a roughly a 10 minute walk at the most from the Boise State campus and a 15-20 minute walk to downtown. Ann Morrison and the Greenbelt are also insanely close to the apartment complex. For the apartments, the price is cheapest compared to the other apartments around it(Other apartments being around $600, PVA being $480). The rooms in the apartment are small, but comfortable. The common quarters and the kitchen are also fairly small, which does make it annoying to work around when you have 3 other roommates, but with a well established system between all 4 people can make it much more comfortable. Given that these apartments have college students living in it, it's quiet very often. The only annoyances with sound that I've come across would be the car shops across the street or loud cars passing by. Overall, these apartments are a nice living space with an affordable monthly cost. I definitely would recommend living at the Park Village Apartments for your first year or two of your college years."
