"I met a woman online who lived in Lakin Kansas. Im from New York. Came to Kansas. My late girlfriend rented a room for us waiting for my flight. We went there to stay for 2 weeks. Nothing special about the rooms. The owners were very rude. We paid extra so my girlfriend could keep her dog with us. The owner complained about dog hair. The TV wasn't very good. Cleaning crew was pleasant. The AC had a mildew smell. I definitely would not recommend The Sunflower Inn."

"I don’t know why all the bad reviews unless they got new management since the last bad review. We had a wonderful stay. Our room was huge, our tub was huge. My kids had lots of room to play. It was very clean and quiet. The lady at the front desk was so nice! It is not a fancy hotel but it was a great price for a very decent motel! Would definitely stay there again if I go back to Garden City!"

"There was dead bugs all in the sheets of my bed. The water was solid brown, and the resident next to me was yelling at his game console. He’s bald, kinda fat, smokes, drinks, and wears these ugly glasses that don’t fit his face. The hot water wasn’t working and the ceiling was leaking black mold. When i opened the fridge there was rats, dead birds, and mold. Don’t recommend families or any normal human being to stay here. y’all dirty."

"This is a 2 star hotel according to hotel rankings. So I'm going to agree with that assessment. Why? The air conditioning unit was shody... it spent more time like it was overheating than making the room cool. The lights by the bed didn't work or weren't plugged in which just shows a little effort on their part would have went a long ways (3 stars). Then there's the main lobby. It smells like it once had a bad odor at one point, but they dumped so much scented air freshener in there that it successfully mask the smell... almost. So it's rather overwhelming. I didn't want to take deep breathes in the lobby checking in. I knew I'd regret it if I did. Last, but not least hotel layout. The hotel is rather confusing in my opinion. They have two separate driveways according to your room and they have no way for you to drive around except the way you came. Credit where it's due, you'll find a decent room for a decent price hence 2 stars instead of 1. You won't love it but that's all there is to it."
