"My name is Kody and I've lived at Villa Park for 4 years been through some ups and downs but it has become a great place with great staff. Plenty of food places and a school if you have elementary children. Fast maintenance and a fairly quiet place to live."
"We just renewed our lease for the third time. We have enjoyed living here more than any other apartment we have stayed. We have not had any issues with any bugs. Maintenance issues have always been taken care of pretty quickly. Best part is the apartment doesn't cost a ridiculous amount."
"Do not even consider moving here unless you hate yourself. The first 2 years I have lived here, I encountered minimal issues. The apartment managers and location of office has changed multiple times since my move in and the only apartment manager that was respectful and seemingly long term was one named Lindsey when I originally moved in. Since my 3 year residential mark, they increased rent for pets after my initial agreement and pet deposits I had already previously paid because their insurance doesn't cover pet damage? So if that's the case then I don't understand why during a routine filter change they would lock my cat in a bedroom while I'm out of town FOR AN ENTIRE DAY with no food, water or litter and not expect there to be pet damage from my cat trying to escape the room. I'm furious about this as I would never lock my pets in rooms and will not start due to their lack of care, that's animal abuse. I paid all the pet fees to give my cats a safe place to live and be well taken care of. It has been noted by other residents that the maintenance man is extremely cruel to animals and has even been so brutal to blatantly state that he "knows just how to kick a dog in the throat with a pair of steel toed boots on." So if that's the kind of sick human being they have working for them then I am completely turned off by the Wooten company as a whole and will never pay them a dime for anything again, let alone allow anyone working for this establishment entrance in my home supervised and especially unsupervised. The maintenance man will let himself into your home even if you're using the chain latch by using a pencil to unattach it, which should be considered breaking and entering unless it's an absolute emergency. They leave every light on in the apartment when they are done with maintenance and I've even come home to my door being unlocked. The communication this apartment complex leaves is incredibly minimal and you often won't have any idea of what's going on. I went 1-2 months of May and June without any air conditioning while temperatures were 90 degrees+. Their solution was a portable AC unit in one bedroom that was "supposed to cool the entire home. I was unable to stay in my apartment for the entire duration of that time with no compensation or date of when it would be resolved. I was left with an extremely high utility bill and no answers. The removed all of the balconies on the back side of the building with no date or notice on when they are removing the balconies on the front side but I can assure you I'm not sticking around for that mess. They are extremely unprofessional, money hungry, savage beings that make me feel extreme discomfort to even be involved with. Most of the neighbors are pleasant and quiet but the unit below me is a disaster, and has came up to my apartment screaming at me and calling me names because I had a friend come over one night after work and I forgot to tell her to park in guest parking and they accidentally parked in "HIS" parking space. He was extremely hostile and rude and made me feel threatened, even after my friend IMMEDIATELY went out to move the car. I called the office the next day and they did nothing about it. I could go on and on about this horrible residency but I'll stop here. Please beware of this awful place, they bribe people to leave positive reviews and there are cockroaches living in the building. You're better off elsewhere."
"I have lived here since April 2006. We have come a long ways with improvements to the property and with better neighbors to neighbors living. The upgrade to my apartment is on the way. Got my kitchen upgraded and next that old carpet is to be tossed out. So glad about all of it. The property is getting a new face lift that will be a huge plus to Cherry Street. My husband and I like the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. This neighborhood is Central to the places we need to get to. We have very good communication with the office when We are needing to reach out to someone. We learned to be patient with the maintenance people because they cover other buildings too. We would recommend Villa Park apartments to others to call home. The location is everything. Thank you so much for having us here. Bridget Ouarara #12"
"MY APARTMENT IS COMPLETELY INFESTED IN ROACHES. There is black mold in my bathroom. Don’t move in here!!! There are gun shots from the neighboring apartment building every single night. Their are drug deals in the parking lot on a daily basis. ROACHES IN MY BABIES CRIB. They won’t let you park against the building in the vacant apartments reserved spots even though there are more vacant than occupied units so the back row of parking fills up and residents have to find somewhere park down the street or they’ll tow your car. It took me three weeks to get approved for the apartment at Villa Park. I specifically asked about roaches because they told me they have never had any issues or complaints and that they spray every month and will spray my apartment if needed. I have a roach infestation, I see them during the day in my babies room, on my kitchen counters and in cabinets and crawling around in my food!!! I've called three times already about the roaches to have them send someone to spray and they have not gotten back to me at all. The company is extremely unprofessional and seems to always have a new office manager. This is the second apartment I've leased through the Wooten company and will be the last. My neighbors are extremely loud as well, they are up at ridiculous hours of the night yelling and fighting. Don't move into Villa Park Apartments!!!!"
