"If you are traveling to Springfield there is only one hotel you should stay and that has to be The Vandivort. The amenities are plentiful, the Art Deco style is beautiful, and the staff is great. I recommend a room with a record player in it if that is your vibe, and the rooftop bar is perfect place to enjoy drinks in an intimate atmosphere."
"A group of us girls went in there to have brunch. The food was really good and the service was excellent. It is a little pricey but very very classy surroundings. There was a live music Duo playing and they were so good!"
"Snotty, not swanky! The VA has always been the classiest place in town. The suite with the bathtub is nasty behind the tub, don’t drop your soap. Pendant light was out over the bed I have stayed at the Vandivort multiple times and always had a wonderful Experience unfortunately, that is not the case on this occasion. Upon check-in I had a gift certificate and a promotional one from the holidays and the associate took a lot of time to make sure everything was in order and I had a $99.25 to be used at the hotel. I purchased dinner and should’ve had a remainder to make a long story short upon checkout I did not have credit for the $300 on my account and the front desk took an extremely long time trying to figure out the problem On her own she obviously didn’t know how to fix it . She kept clicking on the keys. I asked her if she needed assistance to please ask someone that I really needed to go to an appointment. The lobby echoes and I am a loud person. Finally two people came to assist her. They were completely rude. I I felt completely completely disrespected and was asked to leave! !! I have never been asked to leave from any place in my 56 years outrageous!! . I immediately turned and walked away, I received my bill and I did not have the credit although they had assured me they would get it correct and email me the receipt. I emailed back and said please fix it then I get an email from them asking me to call them hello hello hello what kind of customer service is that, I should not have to call when I was the one that was treated like garbage. It is completely unacceptable and I am completely dissatisfied horrible, horrible and I’ll be sure and let everybody I know in town know about my Experience. That was not OK."
"This is the most luxurious hotel in our city. The restaurant is great for date nights, and its rooftop lounge has the best view of the city. We’ve enjoyed it in the summer when the weather is wonderful, around the fire in the late fall, and rented an igloo on the rooftop in the winter. This is a classy place for events or special date nights. Not to mention it’s iconic bathroom selfies."
"This hotel is very unique & beautiful in the common areas. The rooms, however, leave much to be desired (ESPECIALLY at this price point). They are very run down & not very clean. Chunks of drywall and tile were missing and the beds were so uncomfortable I had a neck ache for 2 days after checking out. A smart TV would also be expected at this price point. Maintenance staff appeared unkempt and my room was never cleaned during the entirety of my 2 night stay. Parking was terrible. Unless you paid for valet, you had to park across a busy street in a dilapidated parking lot full of potholes behind an overflowing dumpster. This hotel’s only saving grace was the restaurant/bar, which was very nice. Food, drinks, and service were great. Although, I could have just had dinner at the restaurant, stayed somewhere else, and saved myself a lot of money. All things considered, I feel very dissatisfied with my stay. One might say, even, swindled. I will not be returning and recommend potential guests go elsewhere."
