Reviews
"The first day, we didn't have body wash or coffee. The light did not work over the bathroom sink. We reported all the above. We were given 2 coffee packets, and the bodywash was filed. The light was not fixed during our stay. We loved the hotel employee who checked us in. She was our favorite during our stay."
"I am a loyal marriott member (gold and sometimes elite) and also a timeshare owner. I have stayed in 100s of marriott hotels over many decades. I love the refreshing Aloft design and have stayed in 5+ Aloft hotels including Omaha, Los Angeles and Northern KC. Sadly this hotel did not live up to our expectations. 1. SO COLD - do not stay her in winter. Not only does the room cool down the second the heater stops heating (aka no insulation), but the heater never stops and blows AC after the heat. It is on automatic and no setting changes this. Also they use those motel heaters. built into the walls from the 80s - terrible. There was also a cold draft coming from under it and from the outside wall - it appears that there is little insulation used in this hotel. 2. We were overcharged and I am taking this up with management. 3. I never got a welcome gift (part of my gold membership), was never properly greeted ("welcome to xyzx hotel) and when I mentioned this they did not respond but changed the subject.4. We usually do not need this but realized we had forgotten our toothbrushes and were told to "come get them" - when we got downstairs there were extra staff there (which could have brought them to us, which would have been SO appreciated as we were already in pajamas).5. Staff could use some customer service language training, a smile could not hurt either. 5. It was mostly empty and they claimed there was no room with plaza view, but there was literally hardly anyone in the hotel (parking also empty). 6. I have free nights with marriot points and could not use those. 7. The shower was so slippery I almost slipped. I do nto believe anyone has properly cleaned the floor of the shower. 8. The pate that is behind the temp control o=i the shower turned and was not isntalle dproperly. 9. The toilet doors did not close and kept jamming.9. There is little privacy in the bathroom and the bathroom area is not heated AT ALL - the window unit does not reach that far..... But oh it was so cold. We had cold air blowing on us in bed - then hot then cold. AWFUL - not worth $240. So disappointed."
"Overall a very nice hotel. Great location in relation to the plaza with good secure onsite parking. Reasonable price for the room as well. The rooms were nice with a comfortable bed, big tv, and plenty of space. The water pressure in the shower was not great, and the sink faucet head was close to the back of the bowl, so not ideal for washing your hands. I would definitely stay again."
"This motel does not belong in this district. They are conning people to pay big money to stay as if they’re genuine Plaza material. Aloft is a disgrace to the Country Club Plaza of Kansas City, Missouri list of hotels No luxury found. Don’t stay here!!! Very expensive priced for a very cold ecstatic. Was duped being led to believe my room would come with a fabulous Plaza view as clearly discussed with reservations. Almost $400 for a closet. What a waste."
"Nice hotel and rooms, but the parking garage is not safe. Unlike other overnight garages in the area, there is no secure access to keep people from walking in, no security cameras, and no security guards patrolling the lot. As a result, our friend’s car was broken into. The front desk staff gave the impression that this happens frequently. Considering they charge $25 per night to park, you think they could afford to implement some better security measures. I frequent KC and will likely not stay here again because of this."
