"I received a meat thermometer for Christmas and unfortunately it didn’t work. I had the gift receipt and took it in to exchange it for a new one. They would not exchange it. They said I’d have to go to the trouble of dealing with the manufacturer in order to solve the problem. Why give a gift receipt then?!? I have purchased many things at smoke “n” fire but will not shop there anymore. I’ve had to return items and been given a credit to use in the store which was fine since I knew I’d use it, but they wouldn’t do that since I’d used the thermometer. I know they post all their policies on returns (which seems extreme) but receiving a gift and it didn’t work…and having the gift receipt… you’d think they would take care of it. I’ve always tried to buy from smaller local companies but for my outdoor needs now, I guess it’ll be online."
