"completely disgusting. there is no reason to profit off of racism in 2024. do better, savers. until you do I won't be back."
"I had a long day at my Janitorial job, only to arrive at the drop-off and (in admittedly a rush) I decided to unpack the few boxes I had as I was planning on bringing them straight up to the dock where the employees were standing, but it was after 5 p.m. and their were two other cars in front of me. I tend to drop things off at the Shawnee Mission Parkway location, but today I was closer to my other job coming home, so I swung by. A gentlemen approached with the "that's not how we do things" line. Which was frankly baffling as I was just going to bring stuff up to the curb and set them in their donation basket- or at least help them get them in there. I thought it would be easier.. I'm a very hands on guy. So maybe I got a bit frustrated, but their was virtually no one behind me at the time, so I just took everything out, pulled up my car and then carried stuff over to the donation area. I turned to the guy who had first approached me and told him, "was it really necessary for me to pull all the way up for this?" He suddenly turns to his co-worker and mutters, "Something in the air tonight, huh?" His co-worker replies, "Yeah I guess so." So not only did they feel appalled by my desire to just place things in the donation area, but they also didn't help me after all of that either. They also never explained how it worked only saying something about "we have a process" (well then say what that process is) I had no clue as I have dropped off loads of things at other Savers locations without this sort of weird passive-aggressive issue/ required process regarding donations. I mean just show a little common courtesy and just explain to people how you do it rather than getting all miffed that somebody is doing something slightly differently. This isn't freaking Valvoline oil change, this is a thrift store donation. Personally, both of those guys were extremely disrespectful, and I'm sorry, but I was only trying to be helpful. If I somehow made things more difficult I apologize. I suppose there was something in the air there, but we all have our days and I don't know what they were thinking either. I will never come back here after this interaction however. All that huff and puff over a few neon traffic cones and a poorly written sign and you get upset because someone is doing something you're not accustomed to. You want to hire people that talk like that to people just making a donation then you can absolutely keep them. I have no time for that kind of childish nonsense."
"Savers is a nice place to shop, but I wish the employees were given more useful assignments than to constantly walk around and slide clothes on hangers to one end of the rack. It's annoying and a waste of time, and I think it deters at least some customers from freely browsing product. I realize there is some reasoning behind this, but it seems pointless to walk around doing this during shopping hours."
"One of the better thrift stores, there have been some really nice pieces here. Biggest issue, however, is the ridiculous price gouging. $15 for a pair of used Wrangler jeans I can find at Wal-mart for the same price is wild. But other than that, definitely a store you should check out for cheaper, name brand, and/or vintage clothes"
"We used to love shopping here but now rarely go because of the insane price gouging. Every once in a while we will go but then we are quickly reminded why we stopped. Today I found the same 98 cent pencil box I bought from Walmart 3 years ago for $2.99 and a lot of used Dollar Tree items for $2-$3. Just not enjoyable anymore."
