"Love the place, staff is attentive and gets things done. Great location with an Broadway Coffee so close"
"Great location, onsite security and very well maintained! I was surprised by the large amount of storage/built-ins and the washer and dryer! I'm not a fan of laundromats..."
"This is a great place for those that love downtown living! Very easy access to anywhere downtown you need to go, not too far away from access to a highway either. This property has been recently sold and is now under new management! The transient issue has been taken care of and there is constant security here to make sure this is a safe place to live and do business. Check this place out!"
"It is obvious that the people who are in charge of maintenance and landscaping at this building sure know what they are doing. I work in the area and this building stands out to me with how nice it always looks. This building has apartments on the top two floors and retail on the bottem floor. Each apartment unit has its own balcony to look over Salem; this is a feature is a huge selling point to me because you can relax on the balcony and watch as the rest of Salem keeps up with their hustle and bustle. Also, all residents and retail workers have access to call the security number if they notice anything suspicious and someone will come right out to investigate. In conclusion, this building is very well kept, well worth looking into if you are in need of an apartment or retail space, and the management team is phenominal."
"The interior of the apartments is nice and well kept, but the exterior entrances/exits and parking lot area lacks necessary security. There is a high volume of transients in this area and no secure means by which residents can traverse from their apartment units to the parking area. Transients are regularly sleeping in doorways outside the exits that residents must use to leave the building to get to their cars. In addition, vagrants loiter in the parking lot and are frequently intoxicated, aggressive, and threatening. The manager recently put padlocks on the trash area which has cut down on the problem a little; prior to the locks, it was nearly impossible to dispose of trash without encountering someone rummaging through the dumpsters. I have lived here for over a year and have been repeatedly harassed by the transient population. Sometimes the harassment takes the form of panhandling, other times it is yelling, or following you while yelling. This usually happens while going to and from the car, and occurs most frequently around 7 or 8 in the morning, a prime time for professionals to be leaving for work. The management has not been particularly helpful when reporting problems with the transients. For example, when I was recently harassed by a transient, I brought the incident to the attention of the apartment manager, Will, who brushed me off saying, "BTS staff is not a police department." I am currently paying a comparable amount in rent to what I have seen advertised at South Block and the Meridien, which are properties that have secure entrances and additional amenities this property lacks. If you are considering moving here, you should visit the property during different times of day in order to get a full picture of the security issues- the transient population is much worse during the early morning and evening hours. Also, be aware that the units on the second floor get A LOT of noise from the businesses below. If you're touring a second floor unit, do it at a time the businesses are open. There is a karate studio on the first floor that plays loud music during early morning and evening/night hours at a time you are most likely to be home."
