DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Salem, Oregon

"Do not stay here, there were more people doing renovations and maintenance than were guests at the hotel. The area is very run down. From my very worn down room I could see a homeless camp and 2 homeless walking through the parking lot. Didn’t not feel comfortable staying here at all, when I went to go stay at a different hotel I was told I could get a refund, but when I called my booking company I was put on hold for nearly 20 minutes while the agent tried to get in contact with the hotel, only to be told I can’t have a refund."

"The staff here are very nice and accommodating. I very much enjoyed the friendly and helpful employees such as Char, Chris, Makala, Gretchen, Kimberly. They made my stay very comfortable and the service was phenomenal. I totally recommend this hotel in Salem, as the best. The neighborhood is horrible, but the hotel and staff are absolutely fantastic."

"The hotel itself was great. The staff was really friendly and very helpful, the rooms felt luxurious but affordable. The only downside while being there was the outside noise from the street throughout the night. It's not the hotels fault at all, but I don't know if that's something that happens regularly so keep that in mind. Otherwise we had a lovely stay."

"Highly do not recommend this hotel. Overall the staff was very accomodating but they lack resources from management. Holes in the curtains and curtains dirty. Carpets in the room was nasty and such difficulty in getting housekeeping to clean your room. When I requested housekeeping , i was given sheets & towel to make my own bed. Almost slip in the shower. Strong sewage order as you move around the hotel. The floors are so thin you can hear evey movement on the floor above your room. Hotel did not have internet for almost a month & the manager had such nasty attitude telling me to come to the front instead of addressing the issues & find ways to accommodate since this was a business trip. You pay for what you get."

"Terrible hotel. The first room we were put in had a broken window that looked like someone had tried breaking in. After looking at previous reviews, it seems this has been an issue for others from even a year ago. Clearly not worried about fixing it. Got moved to a different room, which was slightly better. All reviews say it is under construction but again, seems like that’s been going on for over a year now and the place still looks awful. Pool was dirty, they charge you $2 for a bottle of water in your room, breakfast is $9.95 per person, + $10 for parking that they don’t tell you about when you check in. Outside has garbage all around it. Staff was friendly, but everything else was awful. Empty body wash container in shower, had to wait almost 30 minutes for them to come fill it. Would not recommend"
