"This place is excellent, and with a few tweaks it could be stellar. Rooms are comfortable and well-furnished. Lobby area has a ton of places to sit, work, relax, etc. Staff is friendly and responsive. Price was reasonable for what the hotel offered. Would surely come back next time I’m in Salem. Ways to improve: Parking could be better and clearer. Floors should also be card key access to improve security. Nothing major, this place is great."

"I stayed here in August 2023 on vacation. We went hiking all day exploring Oregon, with a check in at 4pm. I called at about noon-1pm to ask for an early check in at 3pm. I was told I'd have to check in at 4. We had nearby dinner reservations at 5pm, so it still worked, we just had to waste an hour - no big deal. We show up at 4pm, the room was not ready. I was told that it wouldn't be ready for some time. The staff in the hotel clearly did not care beyond general pleasantry - this was ordinary business for them and it clearly happens with some frequency. At about 4:30-4:45 I started to look for other hotels online because it's insane that the room isn't ready. The room was finally ready about 4:45, giving me and my wife about 15 mins to shower, change clothes, and walk to dinner. The 'compensation' for my room being nearly an hour late was "premium wifi" - the premium wifi was a joke, it was worse than most ordinary hotel wifi I've experienced in my life. I can't believe anyone would pay for it. I also didn't come to Oregon to sit in a hotel room on wifi. Since COVID, my experience is that hotels rarely clean rooms during your stay and often do a half baked job when they do. So, when I'm booking a hotel all I'm booking is for you to let me check in on time and let me stay until check out time, as far as I'm concerned. I called in advance to ask for an early check in, so you knew I would be there by 4pm, but the room still wasn't ready. I researched later and I found out that Hilton let's certain honors members check out as late as 4pm, which is also the check in time, leaving zero time for cleaning a room. So, some corporate policy allows someone else to check out at 4pm, the room still needs to be cleaned, so I can't get in until 5pm. What a ludicrously stupid idea. The rest of the stay was pretty ordinary. But, again, your job is to let me check in on time, and stay until check out, and you tripped and fell on the first step. I will prioritize Marriott in all future travels. They still have the dumb 4pm policy, but apparently it's much harder to reach the status to make such requests"

"Recently stayed at Holman Riverfront Park Hotel Salem. It was convenient to check-in with unloading parking right in front of the hotel. Bryce at the front desk made check-in a breeze. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our guestroom was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room had beautiful views from the 6th floor. Hotel offers valet parking and your car can easily be requested using the link the valet provides upon the drop off of your vehicle. Will definitely return for a future stay."

"This is a newer, really well done boutique style hotel in the heart of Salem. The food was great (still thinking about that quiche from the catering my group had here!), the valet was easy and efficient, but hands down the best part was the staff- super helpful, responsive and friendly - I really appreciated everyone from the valet team to the front desk to the catering folks. Hope to stay again next time I’m in Salem. Only drawback I experienced was the street light shone through the gap at the end of the curtains right at the head of the bed, and the road noise was a bit loud in my room but it is right in the middle of town so I think this is to be expected. Overall great stay, would recommend!"
