"Everything was good fine except for my main bathroom toilet doesn’t work. I have a hard time getting into the hallway to my apartment. I wasn’t able to open the gate to drive in. Thankfully someone came and let me in. I was told I would get one of the parking spots in front. However the spot I was told to use in no where by the front. Not only is it a ways away it’s usually occupied. Also I ordered the internet from one of the brochures in my apartment, it stated a discount for the first six months however it had expired at the end of December and by that time it was too late. So other than those issues things are going pretty good."
"When you choose to live in a rental community there are bound to be some issues that happen as a result of living in close quarters with other people, and The Farmstead is no different. We chose to live in a second-floor apartment. As a result, when our upstairs neighbors walk, we can hear every, single step. While that’s certainly not their fault, it does make for a pretty annoying daily soundtrack, especially when you work from home. I should mention that none of the apartments in The Farmstead are carpeted and based on my experience, there is little to no sound insulation between floors. If you’re sensitive to something like that, opt for a third-floor apartment, or another apartment complex where – at the very least – the floors are carpeted. In a word, the parking here is terrible. They just implemented a new parking policy: 1 reserved space per apartment. They have a limited number of open spaces that you can rent for $35/month. Fortunately, we were quickly able to secure one for our daughter’s car. Having to pay yet another fee is bad enough, but how they rolled the program out was handled in a very unprofessional, slipshod manner. It would not surprise me at all if they ended up with lots of residents choosing not to renew their leases – and maybe even breaking them early – due to this one issue. While they seem to spend a lot of time and effort keeping the outside grounds clean and tidy, the hallway in our building could use some regular vacuuming, especially during the fall when lots of leaves are tracked inside. Also, other residents often leave their garbage sitting outside their front door either way too early before scheduled pick-up or, they just leave their garbage out there after garbage pick-up failed to arrive (this has happened more than a few times). The result is that the hallways end up smelling like, well, garbage. Again, this isn’t the community’s fault, per se; it’s just another thing that happens when you live around people who simply think that the rules don’t apply to them or just don’t care. However, it’s all the more reason why the community should stay on top of these kinds of issues. Thus far, they haven’t. I’ve seen our hallway vacuumed once, and it was probably about 5 months ago. It's clear that the community puts much more effort into *filling* their apartments than making sure that their residents are happy once they are *in* their apartments. It’s a shame but, again, not unusual with apartment communities. I thought that, given the fact that The Farmstead is a relatively new community, that newness might translate into a more considerate, improved living experience. Sad to say that it hasn’t. UPDATE! As yet another example of management failing to address even the simplest of issues, there has been a mattress sitting in the dumpster area for at least 2 months. If management took the time to assess the condition of the dumpster areas even once a month, to determine if there are any bulk items that need to be picked up, it would prevent the areas from being an eyesore to tenants. For what I pay to live here, I shouldn't have to look at it day after day. Yet another failing for The Farmstead."
"The apartment and buildings themselves are nice. I like the layout and the finishes. The farmhouse-like leasing office is cute. And I like the secured building access. However, management just implemented assigned parking and not only is the policy disappointing but the way they handled this transition is upsetting. The policy is, 1 assigned spot PER UNIT. There are 40 additional spots to rent for $35/mo. And there are 20 spots that are first come first serve (more than half of those spots are in front the office/dog park and/or compact parking only). So units with 2+ cars are in for a parking fight every night. They gave us 3 days to sign our new parking addendum, and they required us to come to the office in person. This was during the week, so I had to take time of work. Additionally, we were unable to reserve an additional space over email - it had to be in person. So, because I had to work and couldn’t make it in soon enough, like a lot of other residents, I was unable to secure a rented spot as they are all taken. I’m 15th on their waitlist. Their excuse for not allowing to reserve spots over email was, “it’s because people don’t update their vehicle information when they get a new car and causes towing issues and this is the easiest way to keep track and we were short staffed”. The parking addendum states, “[resident] agrees to properly register all vehicles with management”. So their response tells me they don’t want to hold residents accountable and they want to do the least amount of work."
"One Star Review for The Farmstead Apartments and Townhomes I'm utterly disappointed and frustrated with my experience at The Farmstead Apartments and Townhomes. When I first signed my lease, I was promised assigned parking, a necessity in this area. However, this promise turned out to be empty. Despite numerous complaints and acknowledgments of the issue, the management has done absolutely nothing to resolve it. It's been an ongoing nightmare trying to find parking every day. The lack of action and concern from the management team is appalling. It's clear that they are aware of the parking situation but have chosen to ignore the needs and promises made to their tenants. This isn't just a minor inconvenience; it's a major oversight that affects the daily lives of everyone living here. I would strongly advise anyone considering The Farmstead Apartments and Townhomes to look elsewhere. The management's failure to provide basic amenities and address serious concerns is a red flag for any potential renters. It's more than just a parking issue; it's a matter of trust and reliability, both of which are severely lacking here."
"Great apartments, awful parking. I regularly cannot find a spot past 6pm and not even a fifth of the apartments are full, so I'm scared to see what happens when they rent out the rest. Parking spots were supposed to be assigned more than a month ago and that never happened. There's not even any nearby places you can park at and walk back to your apartment, so you're essentially stuck with no way to go home. To top it off, they have security patrolling at night so if you're parked somewhere you shouldnt be just so you can return home you can get reprimanded."
