"Went in to take a look around and to bring in my antique Hiroshima pearl necklace from WWI. One of the three guys working there took a look at my pearls and told me he was not interested but he liked the antique box they come in. After that my husband and I proceeded to walk around and look at items they had in the shop while we had another guy who worked there follow us and made it pretty obvious that he was watching us. I am very offended by that considering I am not a thief and gave them no reason to need to keep an eye on us. I don’t think I’ll be going back again."
"I went to this antique shop looking for some furniture for my new place and got some great deals on a few lovely little tables and a nice bookshelf. It seems like they have a good selection of items for all price ranges, lots of great furniture and cute knick knacks. The staff was very friendly and helpful and was willing to negotiate prices with me."
"We absolutely love this place! They have such a great variety of items for sale, great prices, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, always have something new. We drive up from Marysville which is over an hour drive because it is always worth it. If you are making a day of it, like we do, there are other shops in the area as well and several nice places to catch a lunch. Highly recommend!"
"Bellingham’s only fine antiques store. In other local stores you may find the occasional high end antique, but this store is full of just that. You’ll find things like Staffordshire platters, oil paintings, bronze figures, Meissen mirrors, tea caddies, and so much more. This shop is long and narrow, though filled from floor to ceiling. The owner is quite friendly and enjoyable to talk to about antiques. I always enjoy my visits. The owner is knowledgeable and current with his pricing. Don’t expect to find any bargains here, but you won’t overpay in today’s market either. There are so many treasures to be found here."
"Recently I purchased a cut glass bowl from Diamond Antiques of Bellingham, WA on Ruby Lane. The listing read "there are a few minor nicks to the sawtooth top rim, but no other damage." The item arrived with a 1/2" and 1/4" chip to the base. I asked the seller to cover return shipping, but was informed by the seller that "Ruby Lane has a clear Return Policy, which states you can return any item for any reason with three days of receiving, however the buyer is responsible for return shipping." Both Rubylane and Paypal verified that they both share this policy, even when items are misrepresented. Per Paypal, I mailed the item back to the seller in the same box it arrived in, and in the same condition along with tracking and insurance. When it arrived the seller suggested I broke the bowl. He wrote me "Although you received the Bowl in one piece, it was returned to me shattered. The box appeared in good condition, but the contents were in pieces." I wanted to leave a review on Rubylane, but Rubylane gives sellers the option of showing or hiding their shop's reviews. This explains why you can't find any reviews for Diamond Antiques. I have been an antique collector for over 30 years, and have spent the last 3 years on the board of directors of an International Club that promotes antiques. In all those years I have never once been accused of intentionally damaging something that I returned. Be cautious when buying from this shop. This is the worst experience I've ever had on the internet, and I hope no one else is treated this way again by this seller."
