"TLDR: Someone tried to fraudulently open a Kohl's credit card in my name and I was told to call back later. Friday I contacted Kohl's to alert them to credit card fraud. I got the automated phone run-around, mostly the, "please enter your account or other info", but I didn't have any of that info as a scammer used a fake phone# and email to apply for credit. By the time I was able to talk to a human I was told the fraud Dept was gone for the weekend and told to call back on Monday. So you're telling me Kohl's only monitors for fraud 5 days a week 9-5? The phone person couldn't even have the fraud Dept call me back and that I would have to go through the phone system nightmare again on Monday. After the way I was treated, I can't imagine ever shopping or recommending Kohl's to anyone. Kohl's - thanks for wasting my time."
"I love the 50% discount on top of discounted products (happens quite often during the year), it is incredible. Kohl's carries quality product. I love this store."
"I worked here for the holiday season in 2023. I honestly had higher hopes of this place than the experience I ended up having. While the team was great and there are a few people I wish I could've said goodbye to on my last day, I'm glad I was let go. I've waited to post this until after I was let go so I don't face repercussions. I fundamentally disagree with the corporate policies in place, especially the newly instated one that if you, the cashier, do not force the credit card on every single customer, you can lose your job after a certain amount of times of not asking. I'm not sorry, I read the fine print for myself, and I could not, in good conscience, push that kind of thing on every customer. (You want me to ask TEENAGERS? Kids? No.) The only reason I asked was because I literally could not afford to lose income at that time, and I felt scummy every single time, because most people just sign up without knowing what they're getting into. Kohl's posits itself as "doing the customer a favor" in this way, when in reality they're creating a toxic burden on their customer base. It also puts a burden on the employees, as I witnessed even the most charismatic and experienced in getting credit on the team nearly break down about not being able to make credit quota for the day. A system like that should not exist if it hurts the well-being of everyone involved, especially in retail, an already stressful industry. So, to anyone shopping here, be wary that: 1) if you want any discounts/coupons, you HAVE to ask for it, otherwise it depends on the cashier's mood if they want to give it to you (they're not required, even if they know and have a coupon ready), 2) cashiers and supervisors alike have a metaphorical knife at their throat if they don't ask you for credit, so please have patience and 3) say NO, loud and clear, if you don't want credit or rewards (I would recommend rewards at least since it's all benefit and no cost). Having customers say, "No thank you" clearly and loudly enough that the supervising manager could hear took the burden of asking off of me. For future employees: If you're okay with upselling and pushing dangerous products on people and not worried about losing your job if you miss one time of asking, then this place might be the right place to work for you. It wasn't for me, and I'd known that was going to be part of the job, I don't know if I would've applied."
"I shop at various Kohl's locations regularly. Yesterday, we stopped at this one and bought a couple of things. At checkout, the system was unable to retrieve my account despite showing them the messages I regularly get via email. The girl at the counter was trying to help when the manager - Virginia -came by. She was absolutely obnoxious and started saying something about expired coupons in a loud and rude voice. I wasn't even asking about coupons! Just as I finished paying , I heard her speaking to the customer at the next counter in the same manner. It is important that the management team take appropriate actions to address this. Customers do not need to bear the brunt of your poor hiring decisions."
"This store has great options and almost all sizes in stock, considering my size is on the bigger side too. The customer service and friendliness of employees is by far the best I’ve encountered in a long while. I’ll definitely be making the hour long drive again just for qualities like that. A special thanks to Kimberly!!!"
