"Not only is the housing office service slow. They made us go through a huge process of getting notary signatures and stuff individually to all the roommates to process the refund. This process is going on since August 2023 and it's Jan 2024 and they still havent resolved the issue. I would never recommend this community to anyone."

"Absolute worst professionalism! It's all fine the first month you move in, you have a cool gym a pool and you are in the middle of everything San Jose. However once you move out they would send you close to 2 months rent for damages. Now it is totally fine, if you you are moving out and there is damages and you are obliged to pay for it. But you get this bill 2 years after your move out date. Since Avalon is managed by a Company, they transfer the debt collection to a third party. Now neither Avalon nor the third party has any information on why you owe Avalon money. Also, since it is San Jose and even though they are a gated community, theft is a real problem even with those cameras. We had our car broken into, in the garage. This is a property which turned out to be a hell when we lived in it and then turned out to be a nightmare even after moving out! Unfortunately we recommended Avalon to our friends few months after we moved in, their story is not very different! :("

"I recently moved in and I love the place. The apartment is nice and new, the leasing and maintenance team has been very helpful and responsive. Overall the experience has been amazing. Special thanks to the Iza in the leasing office who has been extremely helpful since day one and very friendly. Also Adrian from the maintenance team."

"DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU WISH TO PLAN ON USING THE GARAGE! The garage over here is an absolute joke. The worst. My bike got stolen from this "garage" despite being parked in the designated area. I tried to follow up with the management but to no avail. Theft is not new here as several expensive deliveries from Amazon and UPS also disappear. Today I found my car broken into and my laptop stolen. I repeat, my car was broken into in this "remote key secured" garage. The emergency number given by Avalon never responded and when I knocked on the admin doors, no one answered. The police won't take my complaint without the security footage and my request for this footage remains unanswered from Avalon. From the hoarde of 200 cars, picking the target with some bag in it carefully and then breaking in followed by the reluctance to provide footage, while having many blind spots in the entire garage, one can only speculate if the administration or maintenance staff is involved."

"We only lived here for a year but it was a great experience. The courtyard is great, its cool to be able to walk around and say hi to your neighbors that are just hanging out on the patio. The amenities are all nice and they have everything you would expect. The staff was always very responsive and helpful, and were good about communicating things to the community, especially with all the craziness of COVID going on. We have lived at a few different Avalons, so we have had multiple experiences with Miguel, who has also been at different Avalons over the years, and he is always super friendly and helpful."
