"For an SRO, this is one of the best ones If you don't know what an SRO is, then don't stay here This as for people on a budget. The people who work here are nice. Who rents a room in a low cost SRO and then complains that it's not a 5 star luxury hotel? No pancakes and juice, LMAO you have got to be joking, duh? If you want a 5 star hotel then go to one and pay $500 a night If you just need a place to sleep, this is fine."
"This place takes the cake on being the creepiest hotel I've ever stayed in. I only booked a single night and arrived just before midnight. The receptionist was fine, gave me my key card and that's where it went downhill. I got on the elevator, went to my floor, the door opened and the person staying in the room immediately outside the elevator had his room door open while sitting right at the entrance and was creepily asking me questions like he was high on something... "Hey man, how's going? Where are you staying at? How long are you here?" All within the few seconds I had to cut him off and just walk to my room. I then put the key card in my room door, the green light indicated it unlocked, but then it wouldn't open, as the deadbolt was set. They double booked my room. I tried a second time to make sure and at that point I heard someone inside the room try to wake their partner up, so I turned back. Back to the elevator. The guy, still there and now I had to wait for the elevator while he was trying to talk to me. I told him I needed another room as I was double booked to which he responded "I've got a second bed, you can stay here in mine". The elevator couldn't come quick enough. Back to the receptionist, they gave me a new room/key card and luckily it wasn't on the same floor. I went to my new room (no bathroom inside the room) and didn't dare come back out until it was morning. At which point I left and vowed to never return to the Minna Hotel."
"People here smoke. They do not care about their neighbors. Thank you tobacco you know what that means in the end. Now if you put them in one spot in your own premises, a lot of neighbors will not have to deal with these toxic chemicals. Get yourself educated."
"I lived here for about 6 months.. with my boyfriend our 2 German Shepherd puppies and I and all of our belongings in a tiny small room. The city placed us here as part of the COVID 19 shelter in place effort.. Since we were a couple and had dogs I would have liked to be moved from our closet of a room to one of the larger corner rooms as soon as one was available, but for some reason even after asking countless times and reminding them that we are extremely suffocated in this tiny room, they never accommodated us. I guess they probably assumed we were there temporarily until they moved us into our more permanent housing, but regardless even if we were just guests there for a day or 2 they should have done all that they could to make us comfortable. Especially since during the months that we stayed there I have seen larger corner rooms open up and get other people moved in multiple times. So let's just say I probably won't be paying my own money to stay here for any reason in the future."
"Although right in the heart of 6th street and the extreme poverty, the neighborhood is a lively place that never seems to sleep. The hotel with shared bathrooms is kept clean. Rooms are quite small but they’re also cheap, appropriately $70 a night. No visitors allowed during the pandemic. Cheap and good restaurants are near by as are some downtown theaters."
