"Overall, I was pretty disappointed. The service was awesome, but pretty much everything else was subpar. The rooms, the linens, the cleanliness, the HVAC, etc. Upon entering, there was a massive, gross stain on the floor. And a bunch of nasty...something on the windows. The sheets were cold and thin but non-breathable. It was a weird sensation. I somehow managed to be cold and sweaty at the same time. I splurged for a suite, but it definitely did not feel like I was getting a premium room within an already-premium hotel. The towels were thin, coarse, and flat. They remind me of the towels that my great grandmother who lived through the Depression hoarded after she went senile. The AC was just embarrassing. It was 59 outside, but after 4 hours, it only managed to bring the room down to 71 (from 72). The American Medical Association recommends a sleeping temperature in the mid-60s for men between 18 and 50. This hotel couldn't even get close to a very basic, standard temperature for sleep. Wish me luck. I still have 2 nights in this place."
"Adequate but dreary hotel. The rooms are fine as they’ve recently been given a facelift, but communal areas are depressing. Reading lights above bed are way too bright. Memory foam toppers on beds guaranteed to feel like marshmallow. Housekeeping was very friendly and responsive - maybe the best thing about this place. It’s convenient for the ferry."
"This hotel is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are a little soft, but they have some really great amenities including their snack bar that has a variety of food available as well as Advil/alcohol/coffee. The front desk/bell desk were even helpful at locating feminine products and were very compassionate by being private about it. The only real constructive feedback to give them is in regards to the hotel bar which just can’t get it together. Their bartenders are inexperienced and/or don’t care. I even managed to receive an old fashioned with Campari. The open hours the bar change too, but not necessarily by demand. Go across the street to Cafe Terminus to drink instead."
"Room is sufficient for one person and has a hair dryer, steamer, (empty) mini fridge, tea and coffee. The hotel has all the add-on fees you expect these days. I added on a view, and it is def worth it though it is miles from the elevator. Called room service for breakfast and lunch and got a recording telling me to come to the restaurant because they’re busy. Totally unacceptable. Overall, clean and convenient. It’s one of those huge hotels so expect an impersonal experience. The Ferry Building across the street is super cool.Revised: Bumping this down to a 3 because there is no lunch. They just have a store with refrigerated sandwiches, etc. The “room service” they do have, I am told, is stuff from that market delivered “in a paper bag.”"
"We had a superb time at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco over the Thanksgiving week! The location is sublime - directly across from the Ferry Building and within just a few steps of multiple options for public transportation. The architecture of the hotel is initially startling and a little overwhelming but we quickly grew to love the expansive interior view and the quick and efficient glass elevators. Our room had a lovely partial Bay view and a very nice balcony with chairs. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom with tub was large and very useful. The breakfast buffet was really a treat - lots of different items including a delectable shakshuka and the waffle station was a big hit with the kids! Truly great service and recognition of globalist benefits. We can’t wait to return!"
