Reviews
"When you reach the entrance in front of the main street, you need to knock the front door. Now, the front door is always closed in order to enter the hotel. Staff member was friendly. Although the hotel is very old, repair of the rooms is proceeding. I love this hotel. You can access easily from the civic center station of BART in one minute."
"If you're looking for a hotel that comes with most modern features, this is probably not the one for you. It's a quaint 111 year old building and with a similar charm. The staff was absolutely wonderful! The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. This hotel is in a great location of you're prepared to deal with the a-typical inner city issues that most major cities have. You're in walking distance to hundreds of restaurants a well as the downtown shopping district. It's nestled in between the Trans district and the historical Folsom area. The cable car stop is right in front of the hotel giving you easy access to the Castro, Chinatown and Fisherman's Warf. Perfect for the price considering it's location and the fact that you'll probably not be spending too much time there as you'll want to be out exploring all of what San Francisco has to offer!"
"Well - there is a reason for that, that it is cheap - the rooms are small and furnished with old furniture. The bed was OK though and the toilet had been recently refreshed. The street is not too safe at night due to the amount of homeless people (although none of them did insult us in any way)."
"The place is old obviously, but it was nice, clean and quite inside. Staff was awesome. Super friendly. Room I booked has two full beds and a private bathroom. Room was clean and spacious. You can pretty much jump on any bus, rail or the subway right out front.close to alot of store. A few downsides, there was no microwave in the room. Not too big of a deal for us though. Wasn't thrilled to be right on market street, gets kinda noisy outside, especially if you are in a front facing room like we were. Not the hotel's fault. I didn't exactly check the location before I booked. Again not too big a deal unless your a light sleeper. There is no free parking around really and if you do happen to find a spot on the street it us only for a few hours and not really recommend. You can park in front to load/unload which is nice. There are a few paid parking lots a block or two away, but can be a bit pricey if staying longer then a day or two. The neighborhood is kinda sketchy but there are security and police everywhere. Overall it's a nice place to stay. Definitely would not drive my car next time. Better to take a train or bus next time I visit. Won't have to worry about parking."
"I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Staff was nice, rooms were clean , the beds were just right for two people. The view was so pretty. For what I paid for I will give it 4 stars will definitely be staying here again soon. Also there are homeless people out on the streets but will not bother you if you don’t bother them. Had an amazing time at the show I went too but an even better time having somewhere nice and comfy to go to afterwards :)"
