"We stayed at the Beacon Grand recently for a conference. We were so impressed with the staff,: Angelo, Anson and Sasha were fantastic. Check in was seamless. The room was lovely and very clean and quiet. It was the perfect location, close to great restaurants and centrally located. We hope to be back."
"I recently had an unfortunate encounter with the hotel doorman (Darryl) during my stay at Beacon Grand. This experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I feel compelled to share my feedback. From the moment I approached the hotel entrance, I was met with an unexpectedly rude and unprofessional attitude from the doorman on duty. Despite the hotel's reputation for providing excellent service, this particular staff member seemed disinterested and displayed a lack of courtesy. Not only did the doorman fail to greet me warmly, but he appeared dismissive and unhelpful as i also witnessed, him cursing to some driver at the curb. It's disheartening when the first point of contact with a hotel's staff is a negative one, as it significantly impacts the overall guest experience. I understand that everyone has off days, but in a customer-facing role, maintaining professionalism and friendliness is crucial. Unfortunately, my experience with the doorman left me feeling unwelcome and undervalued as a guest. I hope this feedback serves as a reminder to the hotel management to address the conduct of their doorman. Guests should feel welcomed and appreciated from the moment they arrive, and incidents like this can tarnish the reputation of an otherwise reputable establishment. While I have enjoyed positive experiences at Beacon Grand in the past, this recent encounter has made me question whether the hotel's commitment to customer service is consistently upheld across all staff members. I sincerely hope that steps will be taken to rectify this issue and ensure that future guests do not have similar disappointing experiences. Overall, my stay at Beacon Grand was marred by this unfortunate incident, and I hope the management takes swift action to address and rectify such lapses in service."
"This place was really beautiful. The lobby and the atmosphere was really upscale. The rooms were somewhat tiny and the parking is difficult. Please call ahead of your trip to discuss parking. For the price we paid ($300+ per night) I expected a lot more from the rooms but it is also San Francisco… In the middle of a very busy part of town and the cable car runs right in front of the hotel which makes commuting really easy! There’s also plenty of restaurants and diners around that have good food and plenty to do if visiting or on vacation. Be careful the $30/day destination charge they bill you at check out"
"We've stayed here twice. It's a jewel. Reasonable prices, right on Union Square. Nice rooms and beautifully ornate public areas. Nice restaurant bar. We had Thanksgiving dinner there this stay and the food was excellent. Pic is the view from our room."
"The Beacon Grand is a beautifully renovated hotel with so much elegance still in tact. The lobby entrance is so beautiful! Our room was a tad small but the luxurious bedding and down pillows made up for that! The front desk employees were so helpful providing us with helpful advice and directions for our first visit to San Francisco. The location is awesome for walking everywhere and/or catching the cable car just steps outside of the hotel. Will definitely stay here again!"
