"Location is brilliant. BUT: families BEWARE! Our first night there were drug abusers by the hotel fire pits. Shouting obscenities or walking around with all of their manhood hanging out. (We saw everything). Security was left unconscious by another homeless person in the lobby. People are being escorted away at least once an hour. Also what they don’t tell you is you need to pay $400 per room security deposit (not on their website, it did say about taxes at $34 a night, which is expected. But not this?!). Not bringing credit cards with us we then were told we had to pay $800 per room security deposit as we are paying cash?! What?! How is it double? We had paid for the rooms in full and nowhere did it say we needed to pay this additional money. Also speaking to other guests they were stung too. Manageress accusing people of lying. Same manageress claims all guests are “children” and that’s why they need to pay the deposit. Breakfast is nice, if you can get a seat. Tiny dining hall for the size of the hotel. They have a “traffic light” system for breakfast business, but it’s not accurate. Loved the city but this hotel is run by jobsworths who like to rip tourists off AND it’s ravaged by naked drug abusers. Seriously… AVOID."
"I recently stayed at this hotel with my best friend. I think this was the best location to stay in to explore San Francisco, we were very close to all of the public transportation, and piers. We loved that the BIG Bus was one block away. The hotel is clean, it’s an older property, it seems like the lobby and other main areas have been upgraded, hopefully they fix up the rooms a lil bit more. The breakfast buffet was good, a lot of options, but same thing every day. I didn’t mind. The only thing I didn’t like was that we had to go to breakfast together, I like having my coffee early, so having to wait on my friend to wake up and be ready wasn’t ideal. There is a coffee machine in the room, but I didn’t want to make it myself lol Other than that I would recommend this hotel."
"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I was staying with a handicapped friend in a mobility scooter, and they were very accommodating of her needs. The breakfast buffet is stellar. We were able to walk straight from the hotel to most of the sights we wanted to see and didn't need to get the car out once. The room and beds were very comfortable and clean. The window shades kept the room dark, and the TV had a good selection of channels. I gave it a 3 star review for service because the parking attendant was incredibly rude, and the young man at the front desk was also rude when I called down to ask for the wifi information after we checked in. I will be staying here again."
"Good value for the stay. If you're looking for flawless luxury hotel, this is not for you. If you're not picky and want excellent location to tourist sites, full breakfast every morning, and decent place to sleep go for it. We faced the bus station side and it was quieter at night then I anticipated from reviews, heater was noisy but we barely used it. Luckily our neighbors weren't loud. Yes bathroom sink area is small (didn't bother us) but room was clean. There was a heated outdoor pool but we didn't have time and maybe still too cold in Feb. Mini fridge yes. Hotel has bar and nice convenience store. It felt safe during daylight hours and just be careful after dark. Breakfast starts 6:30am and I saw them take food away starting around 10:10. Go early or late on the weekend if you want to avoid the crowd, but there was still plenty of food either way. They check you in when you arrive at breakfast. All food and drink stays in that area. 4.5 stars for value location and breakfast. Hope this helps!"
"Beautiful hotel. Great location and one of the best price points in the area. The staff was nice. Check-in was easy. I didn't understand why they needed everyone I was with ID, but they did. We had breakfast included with our room. You could not take anything out of the dining room. So, no breakfast in bed if you're on a romantic weekend unless you order. Aside from that cleaning staff was great and the room was cleaned daily. The staff even asked us what time we would like them to clean. I thought that was very thoughtful. This is a great value for San Francisco."
