"I lived at this complex for nearly nine years and, if it wasn't for a random tornado, I would live there still. I loved this property and my cool little apartment. The staff at the front office were always incredibly kind and professional; the maintenance guys are friendly and prompt if a repair is needed and the property itself is beautiful and well-maintained. I rarely heard my neighbors and never had an issue with bugs, etc. One thing I particularly appreciated was that, in the midst of skyrocketing rental prices in the area, they worked to keep our rental costs down; and made only incremental increases from one year to the next. The August tornado caused severe damage to most of the buildings. The weeks that followed were tough on everyone displaced by the storm; and there was understandably a lot of anger among the residents who were suddenly left homeless for an indefinite period of time. Unfortunately a lot of that anger was misdirected toward the staff, who were themselves working 15 hour days, and doing the best they could to make accommodations for 400+ people in the wake of the storm. Throughout that period, both the office and maintenance staff handled themselves professionally and worked diligently, and with sensitivity, to address the unique situation of each resident; which was consistent with my experience the entire time I lived there. I understand they are working to reopen the property as soon as possible. While I ultimately had to find a new place to live, I can't recommend this location highly enough to anyone looking for a well-maintained, and professionally-managed, rental property. I thoroughly enjoyed living there, and I know you will also. Pictures are the view from the porch in my apt."
"My boyfriend and I enjoyed living here for the short time we were able to. We were displaced, along with many others, when the tornado hit. The management handled the situation in the worst possible ways and that resulted in us losing a lot of valuable belongings. We were left in the dark and were told the same things over and over again. I respect only a few of the office staff considering when this happened many of them showed who they really were. I understand this was something none of them had handled before but this shouldn’t have been something they weren’t prepared for. My boyfriend and I had collected magnets over the years, from vacations as kids or just quirky ones from thrift stores, and just about all of those were thrown away with our fridge. This was not because of the storm but because the complex just threw them away when they threw out the fridge. We even found parts of one of our magnets shredded on the floor when we were finally let back in. I reached out to management stressing the importance of them but was completely ignored. We were not allowed in the apartment in order to salvage any of them along with anything in the fridge itself. They threw away glass containers and anything that was on top of the fridge. They allowed mold to grow in the apartments with all of our belongings still inside. Many people had their belongings exposed to the elements and were not allowed to save them. We had to stay in a hotel that was not paid for by the apartment complex. They also would leave around 3-3:30 everyday even though they were supposed to stay until 5:30. The residents took it upon themselves to create a Facebook page to discuss any details and this was the best form of communication due to the little amount the complex was offering. Their solution to a place to live was to place us on a waitlist to return back to the apartments after they completed repairs, which they have yet to begin. This would have broken our lease and placed us in a new apartment, likely in an attempt to raise our rental rates to compensate for damages. This was a wonderful place to live, and before I would’ve recommended it to anyone. However, with the way they treated their residents when disaster hit, they’re not someone I’d want to live under ever again."
"I lived here for 3 years, up until the tornado hit. I liked the community and neighbors. There were things that I didn't like about living here, a majority of the lights were out in the complex and after numerous complaints they still never fixed them. The stairs were falling apart for months before they got fixed. The hot tub and a few of the exercise machines never worked. The pool was closed a lot due to their inability to keep up with it. The closet was not insulated well so if the door was shut out closet would either be extremely hot or cold. Overall, this wasn't a bad place to live, especially for the price we paid. But the management was certainly lacking in some aspects. Also I never understood why the dog poop trash cans were so far off the sidewalk and not easily accessible. I'd roll my ankle sometimes at night trying to throw dog poop away."
"Originally, I liked living here but when disaster hit, they handled the situation very poorly. Lack of empathy for all 400+ people who were displaced due to the tornado. The only person who cared about any of us as "people" was Kristin. Unless they completely rebuild the buildings, I wouldn't trust living there anymore because of all the damage, not only from the tornado, but from the mold that infested afterwards."
"Lovell Crossing Apartments has been a great place for us to live. We were really sad to move out. We were always so impressed by the management! The maintenance team did things so quickly. We will miss being there for sure! We are thankful for our time there!"
