"If you are using Omnicare for a loved one in assisted living, or nursing home, some things to know. First, chances are your Rx is being filled in another city, then shipped to your city's distribution hub. There's no local pharmacy you can go by and pick-up the meds in a hurry. And unlike a "regular" pharmacy, if you decided to transfer prescriptions say to your local CVS or Walgreen, GOOD LUCK. Most of the Rx will likely be a special "order" that exists between Omnicare and the assisted living. Even my CVS was confused when they tried to get Omnicare to transfer the Rxs. Bottom line, this is not a regular pharmacy, it's hard to get through on the phone, it's likely not in your city, and good luck transferring Rxs. Had I known what I know now, I would have stuck w/ the local pharmacy I started with."
