Retreat at Mesa Hills

"Beware of this Mesa Hills Retreat Apartments. Literally every apartment needs to have a Real inspections because all the maintenance fees you pay for on your monthly rent is ridiculous. Thank God I’m a Maintenance myself and able to fix things myself for my family. And yes you have a monthly maintenance fee on your rent. I can swear to you every single unit on this property filters look like this and yes. You are breathing this stuff in. Definitely a quicker way to get to your death bed. Also there are many lights out around the property. They don’t have a maintenance tech to fix that so they just let it be. You’re lucky if your door is properly secured the doors are Usual unaligned. Pools are never cleaned out.All in all these people don’t care about you or the community they just want your money. And whoever was the inspector for this community should be fired. Right along with the maintenance manager."

"I recently moved in, and Christian was very patient and toured me several times... I finally chose a unit and I absolutely love my new place. It is the smaller floor plan, but it provides a cozy homey feel. Everyone in the office is very friendly. I did see my apartment had a lot of wear and tear, and when I brought it up to the staff, they explained that the property has a lot of character (little over 30 years old). I commend Erin and Lizzie for answering all my questions and the property manager for popping her head up to assure me they care. New to the city and I couldn't feel happier to move here.! Great location, beautiful pool.. missed the summer but can't wait to enjoy it next year!"

"Great community! All the staff & leasing agents are amazing. Adriana & Erin were amazing with any questions I had about the move in process & fees due & explaining each fee to me. The community itself is very clean & the amenities & pools are always a plus! I’ll be recommending them to all my friends & family. Although we had a leak in our apartment an email was sent & they were on top of communication. My unit was walked the next day. I appreciate the attentiveness from the team as surpassed my expectations."

"I moved in these apartments May 2022. I signed a 15 month lease with them. The entire lease I had issue after issue even up until I moved out June 2023. The people in the office act nice because they want you to sign a lease. Once that lease is signed goodbye customer service. The office people (particularly the office manager Erin) do not care about you. August 2022 I had a massive leak in my apartment that was not “fixed” until the middle of October. This was after I had to called the City of El Paso on them because the leak was not even acknowledged until September. There was mold where the leak was for many months. During this time I was pregnant and had a three year old living in the apartment. I put in work orders anytime it would rain. And put in many other work orders when I felt that it was not being taken care of fast enough. I also sent them emails. They knew all this and still dragged their feet with the issue. When they finally came to “fix” the leak. It started leaking again shortly after in December 2022. This leak still remained unfixed even on my move out date a June 25th 2023. In January 2023 I was called to pay double months rent because they were audited for 2022. They found I had not paid my rent for the month of June 2022. In June 2022 I spoke with Erin about the rent to make sure we didn’t owe because I thought it was strange we had a 0 balance in our rent portal. She reassured me that everything was fine and that we had “over paid.” Me and my husband held onto the rent for a month. Thinking they would find the outage. They never found it until January. They never had a conversation with us they never sent us a notice. They never even apologized for the inconvenience. They just requested $3000 right after Christmas because they were audited. And of course we had to pay it. But the very last thing that I’m going to add to this is do not expect to get your deposit back. They charge me for paint and the pans that are under the eyes of my stove. All of this equal it up to $379. Out of a $475 deposit. I received 125 back. Make sure you keep all your receipts and take pictures of everything while living here. Otherwise, these people will get over on you. In my experience, these people are liars, con artist and lack customer service. This was me and my family’s welcome to El Paso. I’d give this place zero stars if I could."
