Reviews of River Palms
"Scammers! After my lease ended, I moved out. Regina, the manager, charged me almost $1,000 for things like a toilet paper holder (which was damaged before moving in), light cleaning (I cleaned all the lights before moving out), painting the rooms (which were in excellent condition before I left except for the two tiny holes I made for a curtain in one of the rooms), and many other things for which I was not supposed to be charged. I only paid this bill because I noticed that I had 10 days to pay, or else they would send the bill to collection. What Regina did was illegal, but she must know KARMA exists on this planet. Also, there’s always dog poop everywhere, especially around the grass areas where the grills are. I always called management, but it would take them many days to pick up the poop. During the summer, ants, roaches, and spiders will take over the apartment. There aren't air conditioning units; what they have is a cooling system that barely cools, so be prepared for a hot apartment."
"The worst apartments to ever live in! Do not recommend!!! Charging $28 an hr. for labor? Isn’t that why your maintenance men receive a check from you? Who receives $28 as a maintenance man in El Paso???? We were literally the cleanest tenants there. Every apartment you walked by smelled of poop and rotten egg. It was a roach infested property, and the buildings were literally falling apart. Every time it rains they have to lay out sand bags to avoid flooding, not only at our apartment but about half the apartments on this property. Charged us $210 in over payment towards our rent and never once mentioned it to us. Until we got this “overview letter” in the mail, and then they take it saying we owe because of how we left the apartment. Tropicana properties are literally the worst in El Paso. Do not recommend."
"Don’t move here. I’m waiting for my lease to be up in May. The office makes their own hours. The mailbox is always full or they just don’t answer the phone. Maintenance is a joke. The dumpsters are always full. Ways to pay the rent are constantly changing and not updated. I just went to the office and nobody is there. Lots of children so if you’re looking for quiet, it’s definitely not for you. I could go on forever but do yourself a favor and keep looking. I’m sure with this review they’ll make any excuse not to give me my deposit back. At this point I don’t care. Horrible place to live."
"Had many issues here they lost my rent money and after going back and fourth I ended up paying double rent. When I initially moved there two drawers were broken which I wrote down in the paper they request you to fill out before moving in and when I left i was charged for the drawers. I left my apartment in decent condition even payed a cleaning service and they charged me $90 for their own cleaning services that maintenance does! I have a long list and things to say but just don’t move there, management is horrible , Daniel who makes sure you know he’s the “CEO” is rude and arrogant. Office staff is unhelpful and maintenance guy is lazy. I suggest you hunt down Demetrio Jimenez who is the real CEO, he will help you. I warned you."
"So I moved in when they first opened their apartments. I had many situations is which my apartment would be broken into and I would notify the apartment complex of what was going on. This year I finally moved out due to safety issues and let me say it was rough. I provided all documents as to why I needed to leave and there were certain safety issues with the apartment and when it came to work orders they were not fixed until. Not once were the work orders fixed and when I complained a staff member laughed on the phone. They tried stating once that I never paid my rent when I had proof with money order and tracking number and they did end up fixing it. This was the worst place to live. So many rules would not ever go back. I’m still waiting for my deposit back. It’s already been past 30 days."
