Holiday Inn El Paso West – Sunland Park, an IHG Hotel

"I'm a heart patient from out of state, chose to stay at this property while I receive medical treatment with my cardiologist. Hands down the best Holiday inn property I've ever stayed at. The front desk staff are absolutely amazing, Ivan the front desk manager went above and beyond to make sure I was completely comfortable throughout my stay. When the shuttle was down the engineering guy took me to the store in his own vehicle. Louis very accommodating and has been able to answer any questions I had. I'd like to see a little bit more variety on the breakfast menu however the staff at a kitchen are awesome."

"Room was clean but the carpet had seen its better days. The place felt abandoned. The service was excellent at check in and check out. What I took issue with was advertising room service and onsite restaurant- no room service available and was told the one person in the restaurant “may be busy because there was a large group checking in and because of that he may not be available for anyone else (?)”. As a loyal IHG member for years- I expected much more and at least a guide book of local delivery, attractions and such in the room. IHG usually delivers more and these things were very disappointing."

"I am diamond member and wasn't offered any water during check-in. Had free breakfast available but wasn't given the breakfast tickets at check-in. Found out when going down to the restaurant in the morning. Rooms are ok. Got lost the first night when going back to the truck because the place is like a maze. Map shows square buildings but they are actually jagged and have walkways around them. You have to walk 150 feet around to go 50 feet. All the buildings are close and connected on the second level. If you take a wrong turn, you end up by a different building somewhere."

"I hate to write a negative review but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I gave service 3 stars because the staff was friendly and there's not much they can do about the situation. Maybe when it's done being renovated it'll be fine, but the hotel was a construction zone when we stayed. The rooms are located in several buildings with long outdoor walkways, some of which (including the one leading to our room) was dark. The security fences didn't lock at all. The steps are uneven sizes which is confusing. Our room was FILTHY. The carpet was stained and there was a huge red stain next to one of the beds. The bathroom grout was moldy and there was mold all over the shower. The top latch was broken on our door. There were stains on the curtains, covers, and walls. The lobby was completely empty of anything but construction materials and the bar, which was open. There wasn't any breakfast or coffee available in the morning when we went down to check and also when we checked out. Overall, a not-great stay. We decided to stay at another IHG for the rest of the nights we were in town and had a much better experience."

"This is my second visit. It’s a kind of love and hate. Good: The location, lots of great restaurants nearby. It’s very quiet despite next to the freeway. Cozy bed. Spacious room. Very friendly service. Not good: It’s quite room if you don’t use a/c. It’s loud. Didn’t notice the previous visit though. There are gates around the guest room building. If your card doesn’t work, you have to walk all the way to the front desk. Breakfast. Our last visit, the restaurant was open, enjoyed the breakfast. That’s the reason we paid extra. But it was under construction this time. They only serve typical not so great hotel type breakfast. It wasn’t worth paying extra money, very disappointed."
