"It was a nice place friendly place, breakfast is not all that the room was big but the bed was so dang hard it killed my back and I had to drive 3 hours to get home. Stay somewhere else!!!"

"Worst hotel experience ever. I would highly recommend not staying here. My friend and I were headed back to Colorado from Austin and needed a place to stay, so we booked at this location through Priceline, and confirmed that we would be arriving relatively late. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the employee at the front desk, who soon became very rude and condescending. We were informed that they would not be able to honor our reservation, as we arrived later than 3am, despite numerous delays on our route through the large state of Texas. I have previously booked hotels on Priceline and been able to check in past that time. We were basically left high and dry, and the employee was refusing to help us out any further with our Priceline reservation. At the last minute, we ended up paying another fee for the room directly through the hotel, as there were few other options available. The room we were given was dirty and had mouse droppings. The next day, we were informed that the hotel's management was working with Priceline to refund our initial booking fee, but there was no guarantee that we would be given the refund. So basically, we paid over $140 the other night to have a room (which had a value of $45) that was dirty and had pest control issues... and we were nearly left high and dry, without a place to stay. The hotel employees' unwillingness to help us resolve the issue also speaks volumes about the incompetence of their management. So, if you're even in the Lubbock area and are looking for hotels late at night, I would highly recommend looking somewhere else, unless you want to have a stressful experience checking in and having to stay in a very sub-par room with rodent issues"

"I am not really sure who has been doing these reviews before me. But I am not even 1% satisfied with this. There were mouse dropping on the bed. I’m getting ready and this mouse comes out. I get on the bed waiting for my husband to come back from the store. Than it’s on the nightstand. I right now sitting on the table afraid it’ll come up here too… I am very dissatisfied. First time in a Howard Johnson that I am extremely disgusted with. Oh and service person charge me 6$ for a tiny toothpaste and a flimsy brush.. after saying he didn’t have any… unbelievable!!!"

"This is a horrible place. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. I was attacked by bed bugs during my stay. I have bites all over my face, arm, and back. I even have a bite on my lip. Almost 30 to 50 bites that I can see. We let front desk know and she got belligerent and began to insult us. Then she threatened to call the police on us. I have nothing good to say about the hotel. I understand it isn’t a 5 star hotel, but it’s still supposed to safe and CLEAN. I shouldn’t have to worry about bed bugs or roaches crawling all over me while I’m trying to rest after a long trip on the road. This is sad. Then there was blood stains on the wall in the staircase. Just horrible. Don’t let the low price and deals fool you. They do not care about your well-being. Be careful they’re using spam Google accounts to leave good reviews to fool innocent people into booking a room. BEWARE!!!"

"My stay at this hotel was absolutely delightful, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure all my needs were met. the room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. i especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the stunning view from my window. i highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay."
