"It’s really weird that all the reviews are so negative. I’ve had nothing but kind-hearted folks that I’ve talked to, and the hold times are nothing, just put it on speaker phone and watch some YouTube. My problem is with the State Laws themselves that prevent certain people from gaining access to programs they need. One reviewer complained about ‘socialism’ in their review and my answer to them is: don’t call the DCBS and use social services if you’re so afraid of socialism. Maybe the fact that you need social services in the first place is proof your precious capitalism has failed you. Pick yourself up by your bootstraps!"
"It's absolutely insane. From call center workers who act like they are the big boss to the case workers. Supervisors are mostly unreachable as the case workers will find a way to deny your request to speak to a supervisor. They all suck big time. Incompetence is at its very worst. Anybody for socialism needs to deal with this govt agency. It is guaranteed to change your socialist views. Very sad situation."
"Trying to contact them successfully is an actual nightmare. You have hold times of 2 hours, only to be transferred because the person who answers the phone cannot work with your case or doesn’t know how to. Don’t expect them to call you back if you opt for that feature either. I’ve also contacted them successfully only to have the other person on the line not be able to hear me. And I only have that issue with contacting them. Better off walking into an actual office."
"Have tried for 3 days to talk to a case Worker. Not just A representative. First time was 1.45 min.tranafer.heard a click was disconnected. Called back put on hold AGAIN, this time was 1.10 min. Disconnected. 3rd time now been on hold 2.35 min. Something needs to be done about these case workers not answering. The Representatives answer in a timely manner why can't the case workers. The system is ridiculous. Someone needs to step up and do something about the case workers."
"You get a notice to renew the end of April. You call in and renew and are asked to submit paperwork by 5/31. You submit paperwork on 5/13. You call in on 5/20 to ensure your paperwork has went through and is clear. You are told it is and everything looks good. Casemanager just hasn't looked at it yet. It's 5/30 and not one person has reviewed your documentation. So, it something is wrong, your food stamps, medicaid will be stopped. What type of garbage is this? What kind of people work there? This is ridiculous. I pray for the day I don't need any help from dcbs."
