"I've used Valvoline several times and have always been satisfied with my service. Unfortunately, I had a frustrating experience today when I went to get a state inspection. The wait was an hour, which is completely fine given how busy it was. However, during that hour, not a single worker came to ask what services I was looking to get done. Every time I've been to Valvoline or similar businesses, the employees are always very quick and friendly to check what people need as they pull in. The worker asked me only as I pulled into the service station after an hour-long wait. He told me there was no inspector available and there was nothing he could do for me. He told me "I'm not sure how I missed you because I spoke with everyone else in line". He at one point did come up to my car in line but only to tell me to pull up. During the hour-long wait, I do not recall him approaching and talking to other patrons who were in line behind me. Had someone spoken to me earlier in the waiting process and clarified there was no inspector, I would have gladly said thank you and gone elsewhere or come back another day. I will most likely still use Valvoline for its oil changing services, but I am discouraged from using this location again."
"Very slow have been parked for over an hr and there’s no sense of urgency or respect for peoples time. Workers moseying along walking all over instead of trying to help the jam of traffic flow and the 45 min oil changes on the 1-2 cars in the Bay Area. The entire process from pulling in to leaving was 2 hours and I got nothing done."
"Let me start by saying I have always been a fan of Valvoline and have recommended them to friends and family. I will never recommend them again. I went in Wednesday for a full-synthetic oil change. My power steering fluid has been low (I know nothing about cars, but my husband know a little, and he told me it sounded low). I asked Valvoline to top-off the power steering fluid, they said they could not because I had a "closed -system". I thanked them for checking and proceeded to get the oil change. The next morning I woke up to large oil spots all over our driveway. We own rather than rent, so as a homer the damage to the drive-way was upsetting, but I didn't blame Valvoline for it. I took my car back to Valvoline and asked them to check for a leak. They said there was not a leak, but my power-steering fluid was almost empty, and maybe I needed a new hose. I drove home. When I got home I told my husband what they said. He popped the hood and guess what...a place to fill-up power steering fluid. Right in the open...easy to see. We then called our mechanic he was shocked they would say that it is a "closed system". He was even angry on my behalf they let me just drive off like that without putting any fluid in or warning me about the extreme damage driving without fluid can cause (Again, I admittedly don't know anything about cars). Really frustrated and disappointed with their lack of knowledge. Additionally, it has been a full day now since I put power steering fluid in and my car has not leaked again...I now feel that the damage to the driveway is in fact oil from the oil, and thinking about it my car did not leak visible fluids prior to the change."
