"Dr. Abeleda acted like a fool. Acting like a big wind was blowing him around the room every time I talked. He told me that ordering a meds that kept being cancelled due to a shortage sounded like a "you problem.". I walked out. This was our first appointment. He followed me out apologizing and asking me not to go. I kept waking. I made an appointment with another doctor in the building, Dr. Cooper, only to find out that I had been lied about and vilified to her office by the office of Abeleda. She said she heard about what happened and didn't want to hear it from me. When I demonstrated what the prior doctor did, Dr. Cooper said she was afraid to be alone in the room with me. WHAT!? how does she think I felt having a doctor I just met do that to me. The whole staff of Dr. Coopers office treated me horribly from the get go. Rude, curt, wouldn't let me speak. It was horrible. I have done nothing wrong except pick the wrong Dr. Office. I'm sure my medical records are full of lies by these two "doctors". I don't feel like I can ever go back to IU because of the horrible, disrespectful way I was treated, and the lies these two have told about me. If you value your relationship with your doctor, don't come here because they don't care. They are petty and mean people. They don't care about helping anyone. It's all about them. Horrible individuals. Would not trust them with my car, let alone my life."
"Dr. Lena Franklin is terrible. She's the first doctor I've had lie to me. She wanted to switch the anxiety medicine I had taken for the past 5 years. I told her I was open to it as long as it was something I could take only when needed and not something I needed to take everyday. A few weeks later I had really bad anxiety before an important work meeting so I took the new prescription. It did nothing and I had extreme anxiety throughout the whole meeting and barely made it through it. I called the office and explained the situation and the nurse said the new prescription was only effective if I took it everyday for a month. This is one of many bad experiences I've had with Dr Franklin. Do yourself a favor and find someone who knows what they're actually talking about."
"The lab (where many IU locations send their patients for lab work). Was closed on Saturday (1/7/23) because "the heat was out". Has nobody heard of a sweater? Has nobody heard of a space heaters? Does IU lack the funds to call in an emergency HVAC specialist? The reason it's important for a lab to be open on Saturday is because many people work Monday to Friday jobs who are still expected to work when the heat is out. Is this the only IU lab open on Saturdays? If not, it might have been nice to include an alternative location on the note so patients weren't stuck fasting for nothing and completely wasting considerable time and gas."
"Sitting here just in absolute awe of how kind and professional this office was to me on my first visit there. After my concerns being dismissed several times with my prior PCP, and the ER department at Community South, I had just about given up on finding quality healthcare. My father, noting the exhaustion and frustration I was having with not being heard referred me here and I am so glad he did! They were all absolutely wonderful even right down to the medical assistant. The NP was fabulous and genuinely heard my concerns, didn't dismiss me or rush me out of the office after 10 minutes like my previous doctor. I had literally forgotten what good healthcare looks like until today. Well done IU, you have assembled a wonderful team in this office, and you beat Community Health Network's standard of care out of the ballpark, I deeply appreciate you!"
"I like the doctors and staff at this place. Have had no bad experiences, but one bad experience doesn't tell the whole story anyway. I have to be honest, I don't think my old doctor was very good. He has since moved ;). But he was nice; I don't think he had that much experience. I've almost always been given a good time slot here; I think they prioritize well, putting people with potentially dangerous conditions first. That's the way it should be, not the case with all hospitals and clinics, unfortunately."
