"I have been here 2 years and I am very satisfied. The grounds are well kept. The outside is well lit. The building is cleaned twice a week and any requests I had were taken care of within 24 hours. Professional office staff. Close to shopping, restaurants, businesses and freeways."

"I'm surprised I can make another review. We lived in this disgusting place for a few years. I left a review with pictures of mold, and they deleted it. We moved out in November of 2020, but the subject came up today. Looking back we were miserable there. The woman in the office were nice though. - Mold - Nine months without my front door locking - One month without a working bathtub - Roof caving in for months - Electric issues - Plumbing issues Their solution was to cover everything in white paint. I would beg and beg for issues to be fixed but they never were, they refused to help."

"Please note that I gave Mapletree apartments 5 stars because the people who work here in the office and on the maintenance team are AWESOME. So even if we had more issues than we would’ve liked while living here, this is an old building and I guess that’s to be expected, but the way the team here handled the issues is what made living here so great. The good: - GREAT people working in the office! Dana, Meredith and Shawn have all been great to us, always super responsive and willing to work with us to meet our needs. - We received our full security deposit back. - Awesome & spacious floor plan: one of the larger floor plans we looked at for the cost in this area. 800+ SQ FT one bedroom apartment with lots of storage space in the kitchen, an extra large bedroom with room for a desk & a HUGE closet, a spacious bathroom and a large storage closet. - very responsive maintenance team: whenever we needed anything fixed we could use the app to request maintenance and they would show up same or next day. - Improvements being made: 1. New sprinkler systems which doesn’t really benefit tenants directly but they seem to care about the way the exterior looks which is good. 2. Constant improvements on the parking area, fixing curbs and redoing parking spots. 3. New package room July 2020: a safe place for your packages to be dropped off that’s accessible 24/7 by coded entry and you use an app to open the lockers that hold your packages. 4. All new washers and dryers July 2020. 5. New dog park October 2020. - Snow is always removed in a timely manor and grass is always mowed. - Each apartment gets their own car port free of charge. - Pool & tennis courts - They spray outside the apartments for bugs - Our AC unit went out during a heat wave & we were told the AC people weren’t going to be out until the end of the week, Mapletree provided a portable unit which kept our apartment just as cold if not colder! (July 2020) The bad: - when we first moved in we were shown an “updated” apartment with slightly nicer cabinetry and finishes and were told that this was the base model apartment which was great! When we went to sign we were told that the one we were shown was considered an updated apartment and that we would have to pay extra for it. We were upset and asked the leasing office about this and they apologized and fixed it right away so we were able to get an “updated” apartment for the original price we were told. - safety: 1. I had my catalytic converter stolen off of my car that was parked in the car port February 2020. 2. I also had a man wearing a face mask and sunglasses trying to get me to open my apartment door by telling me he was my mail carrier August 2020. I did not open the door. This was extremely scary to me but the Southfield police said they couldn’t do anything since no crime had been committed and the office never really got back to me on it. - Other residents here drag their trash down the hallways leaving gross lines in the carpet in the hallways- maybe these floors should be changed to vinyl or something. - Apartments are outdated. - Not enough dumpsters on the property and by trash day the dumpsters are always over flowing. - Pipes clogged somewhere in the building causing someone else’s water from maybe their bathtub to overflow through the drain in our kitchen sink, overflowing our sink and flooding our kitchen. The maintenance team came right away to take care of this. I believe if there were more preventative maintenance on these buildings things like this might not happen. - In the last month we realized we had mice. We never saw any but found droppings all over our kitchen counter. Since we only had a month left we decided not to have exterminators come out because we had pets and it would’ve been extremely difficult for us to get them out for a whole day so the exterminator could come in. We asked that it be exterminated after we moved out so the next tenants wouldn’t have the same issue."

"Update: I have been here for a year now. Things are better then they started off. Some things have been fixed properly and replaced. I have been a resident at Mapletree for 6 months now and have had nothing but issues with this place. I have never lived in apartments that has so many maintenance problems and it’s always the same stuff that I call maintenance for. The rent is way to high for the quality they offer. They never really replace the things that are broken instead they try to patch things up. For example the front door in my apartment was jammed shut TWICE with in a month because of course all they did the first time was patch it up when the door obviously needed to be replaced because it’s rusted out. I could seriously go on about all the issues here. I get that other people have rented the space but there shouldn’t be reoccurring problems with the same things after they have already been fixed."

"We've lived at Mapletree Apartments for two years and have had nothing but a positive experience here. The office staff are amazing; very thoughtful and they always go out of their way to help. Seeing Dana and the other ladies in the office is the highlight of our two year-old son's day. The maintenance staff is also great. They are always punctual, friendly and resolve all of our issues in a professional manner. The location is also great and perfect if you work in Southfield. We would highly recommend!"
