Crown Choice Inn & Suites Lakeview Waterpark 720 South Huron Avenue, Mackinaw City, MI 49701

"I arrived late at night with my 13-year daughter. We found a surly desk clerk, assisted by a slob sporting a t-shirt with a huge cannabis leaf. Room was ice cold. Dirt and gravel parking lot with no marked spaces, cars and trucks parked willy nilly (these were the cars of patrons of the on-site bar and grill.) Unlocked exterior door allowed access to guess hallways and rooms 24/7. I was so disgusted, we left early the next morning and the same desk clerk refused to refund the money I paid up front for a three-night stay. (Why didn't I simply check google reviews?) I disputed the Credit Card charge with Bank of America, which I am still fighting after a hotel rep wrote a letter and lied that I stayed two nights in this dump. Fortunately, I have the invoice from a very nice Days Inn in Petoskey, MI, where I checked in the same day I checked out of Crown Choice. Avoid this place!"

"I heard Benny was fired but I still wouldn't stay here because he is cousin of the owners and they let him be employed there. There is a culture here, Benny didn't learn it on his own. Plus if the bathrooms flood on their own it's an extra hard pass. The family owns a bunch of hotels in the area so best bet is to just stay clear of this whole city if you can."

"The Waterpark was okay, definitely outdated. Most of the jets in the hot tub didn't work and the water was so cloudy you couldn't see to the bottom of the pool. Room smelled musty as soon as we walked in. There was a full trash can in the closet when we got there. Counters and floors had old food/crumbs on them. Bathroom had mold on the ceiling and behind the toilet. Looked like housekeeping just flipped sheets and didn't actually clean anything. We brought our concerns to the front desk and the woman rolled her eyes. Was offered an "upgraded" room for our second night, but we declined because the entire place was FILTHY. Asked for a refund instead but was told we can't get a refund because they offered us another room. Worst hotel experience we've ever had for both rooms and service. Do not go here!!!"

"Room was very clean and cozy. The hot tub is huge and the best one I have ever been in in my life. No jets which is what I like and water temperature is so perfect. I love to watch the kids having a great time playing in the water park while soaking away. One of the best hotels ever and will return over and over again. Make sure to bring one dollar bills for the change exchangers for the arcade. The rates for this hotel are the best you will find for this much family fun. There will not be lifeguards blowing whistles at you like the wolf lodge. Love this hotel!!"

"Recently stayed there 12/23 thru the 25th. Had a room overlooking the water. Let me tell you this: this is the 3rd time staying here and I don't know what the complaints are for. Is it perfect? No. Was there a free Breakfast? No. Was the pool not open till 2pm? Sure. But you know what? It's $75 a night with a great kids water park, friendly staff, when we asked for extra towels or extra shampoo, we got them. What else can you ask for? We brought some cup o noodles, soda, stuff for sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches. Luckily the room came with a good sized mini fridge, a functional microwave, and we were all set. The rates are a great price, the other guests were friendly. Nothing smelled weird, we were warm at night, and everything was clean. Perfect stay for what we paid and definitely worth it for 2 nights and tons of family fun."
