Fairmont Chicago - Millennium Park

"Amazing stay at the Fairmont Hotel for Valentine Day. My wife and I enjoyed the warmth of the lobby and the newly upgraded Gold Lounge. Our suite was very spacious along with a wonderful view of the park and lake. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like family. The view from the Gold Lounge was stunning. The appetizers and the desert were tasty."

"We were treated like royalty! The doorman, Tony, was the most wonderful person I have ever met!! We stayed a week and on our last day, we had to leave for the airport at 5am and his shift didn't start until 7am, but he came in early to send us off!! We gave him a very large tip because he was worth ever penny! Our room was spectacular and the convenience of the pedway underneath the hotel to take us to Macy's and other shops was amazing! We don't normally splurge this much for a vacation but it was one of the best weeks of my life and worth every cent we spent! I had been to Chicago with friends in the past but this time I came with my husband and I wanted him to experience everything that I had experienced and have the best time of his life and I think he did!!"

"Was traveling for work and had a decent stay here. Not the normal hotel I stay at but it was a decent experience. I arrived around 9:30pm and check-in was a bit chaotic. There was only one person working the desk and a long line of people waiting to check in. The room was fine but definitely could use a little bit more up keep. The gym was good and room service food was okay. Overall a fine place to stay but nothing to write home about"

"Great location. Clean well kept rooms. Great views. Do not plan on eating or drinking anything after 9:30. Despite what is advertised as food and drink closing at 11 and midnight, they end service much sooner. This includes room service. I called at 9:45 and was told the kitchen is closed for the night. Don’t stay here if you are arriving late and are hungry or want a beer."

"Stayed here for New Year’s Eve. I expected luxury since it is a 4-star hotel, but things did not hold up to par. Here is the list: (1) we arrived by car with a lot of luggage, the car valet immediately came to check our car but no one came to ask for help with luggage. I went inside to grab a luggage cart and was told I couldn’t take it since the bell boy (older man) was supposed to use it. I said fine— we need the help. They said to bring the luggage in — us not them! (2) we checked in and they gave us a $5 credit for coffee in the morning. When we checked out, the credit was never applied— $12 for 2 regular coffees! (3) the room TV did not work. The hair dryer did not work. Maintenance had to be called for both — took 55 minutes for them to show up. That should never have occurred in a 4 star hotel. (4) 2 towels for 3 people? Overall- I’ve stayed this year in the Hyatt and Royal Sonesta nearby. Rooms and service were much better, plus about $50 cheaper for the room and $30 less for parking"
