"Loved living there at first. Had termites flying around my apartment for months!! They said they called exterminators, but I have cameras in my apt and could see the “exterminator” come in for half a second and then leave. Then they raised my rent while the empty apartments of my floor plan stayed the same or even reduced in price. I guess that’s how you treat valued residents. So I left. Otherwise quiet and beautiful apartments. Maintenance men are nice. Front office can be responsive, it’s a hit or miss. Depends on who works with you."
"I went to this place looking for a rental and as soon as i walked in i was greeted by Carlos with a warm welcome and very professional manners. He was very friendly and all The information regarding the apartments were very informative. He showed me the model one bedroom/one bathroom first floor and i just loved it!"
"Lived here for approximately 5 years. Close to 95, major shopping centers, etc. For suburban Boca Raton, it’s about as affordable a rental as you’re going to find. The place is ideal for a single person or two people max. The major cons, as MANY have alluded to in the comments over the years, can be summed up relatively succinctly: the complex is old. The units were given an cosmetic upgrade a few years back, but most of the issues are structural in nature; thin walls/floors, persistent bug problems (mainly in the form of roaches), roof tiles not being properly secured or replaced which caused water marks on the ceiling, window glass that’s about as thin as paper (if south Florida were to receive a direct hit from a hurricane I’d have serious concerns about this entire complex withstanding 100mph winds), and for most apartments extremely old AC units. There is NO reason why a 800 sq ft unit should have an electric bill of $250+ a month, let alone the majority of that time the ac is unable to cool the place off to comfortable temperatures. I think what bothered me the most was that Palms of Boca Del Mar is owned by a large corporation who should consider investing in new AC units for every single place. Every summer there felt like a health hazard inside the unit by 1pm, and for the amount of money one is paying in rent, having a functional AC in south Florida shouldn’t be a luxury for renters. Having said that, I rated Palms at a 4 because management was always wonderful to us. And the catch-22 of living in a pre-hurricane Andrew complex with constant maintenance issues was the AMAZING maintenance staff. I’ve rented for almost 20 years of my life, and have yet to live in a place with such wonderful guys. Pretty sure all, or the least one of them lives on site, and is available after hours for emergencies. No matter the time of day or scope of the issue, maintenance was at your place within a few mins of making a maintenance request. The guys always did the best they could, but seemed to imply that many of the issues needed a lot more than the “band aid” solution in which they provided. All in all, I don’t miss the apartment itself, nor would I ever live there again, but all the staff and majority of our neighbors over almost a half decade made it worth it at the time."
"I lived in the community for two years and will provide in details here my experience with Palms of Boca Del Mar. The apartment was delivered to us in a living condition, meaning that appliances were cleaned, bathroom was cleaned, painted, but carpet was not new or not even cleaned. My husband complained with Damaris in the office, and her only response to him was "sorry". We had to do a heavy carpet cleaning ourselves (for three times) because my husband is allergic to dust. A/C unit was old and was not cooling down enough during summer peak months (our electricity bill was over $250/month during the summer months for a one-bedroom apartment). The windows are very old, and when it rained, the water used to come inside the wall (I had to put towels in the window seal to hold the water). On top of all that, we used to live in the building facing a 24/7 open dumpster with garbage all over the place in the parking lot. We used to collect trash from the parking lot every day to "better" our living conditions. Our downstairs neighbors used to smoke pot in their balcony, in front of the parking lot where our cars were parked. I thought of complaining for so many times with the office or calling the police (too many people coming in and out everyday of their unit, constant screams and fights) but I was concerned for my safety and the safety of our cars. I was not feeling safe in the community. We gave 60-days notice as required by law. Asked them if we could deliver the unit one week before as we were paying rents in two places for two months, and I was completely ignored. Still, we honored the lease agreement until the very last day even though we were not living there anymore. I delivered the unit in perfect condition with a detailed cleaning (pictures attached). In a way better condition that it was delivered to us. Still, the office deducted $144 out of our $500 deposit stating that we did not provide a receipt from a professional cleaning company. For them, that was proof that we did not clean the unit enough. Who would pay $300 for a cleaning company to get a $500 deposit back? This is a "legal" way they found to keep our monies. For all my experience, I would never recommend this place to anyone. BIG ALERT to everyone who is thinking of living in this community. Unfortunately, you will end up going through the same issues, and in the very end, you will not get your full deposit back."
"Amazing place to live in. The staff have been very nice and have been extremely helpful. Any issues that I have had the staff have been very diligent about. Thank you, Damaris, for helping me get my leased started. Thank you, Sydney, for helping me get moved and settled with any work orders. The apartment is spectacular and in a great location for any students that go to university near Boca. Overall, my experience here has been amazing, and I recommend this apartment complex to anyone who is on the fence about Palms of Boca del Mar."
