"We pulled in on January 1st at 4:30 p.m... grabbed our packet at the office door and head down to site 28. There's a gold/tan 4 door car with its driver side door open parked in the road right in front of the laundry/bathhouse (they had 3 empty parking spaces but they didn't use them), we made it by the car but it was tight. Then we get to our site and there's a big white truck parked in our spot. Husband had to get out and ask people whose vehicle is this... a guy from the back wall comes to move it. We start to back in to our site and find if you're going to go all the way back (the host lady came to tell my husband how to back in, lol) to the grass line you will need 3 sewer(we only had 2) lines to hook up... wish we would have been told that when we came to make our reservation 2 weeks prior... then a few days after being there we go to the bread store to be there by 9 a.m., come back to find a red trailer pulling in across the road, so my husband pulled back to our trailer and the tree a little closer than normal due to them still not settled... just giving them room to go back and forth to get settled in... we go back in and start our day, came back out that evening to see a yellow sign taped on our truck... Saying we are parked on the grass. Next time we will have a fine. This makes us start looking over the paperwork to send to the financial advisor and found that our number was wrong on the reservation by one number (the last number was wrong, not our fault... we didn't know till then)... I go in the next morning as we leave to fix it and apologize about the misunderstanding about the grass cause we don't go around wanting problems. The lady was very rude and snotty... a few days later we started a fire in our 44 inch fire pit to cook dinner but it just didn't want to keep going, it went out(6 to 8 p.m.)... the next morning at 8 a.m. my husband went out and started it up again and had better luck and had gone out 3 times to get it ready to bring our special needs son for lunch to have hotdogs on the grill. It was a little after noon... husband ran to take a shower at the bathhouse, our son and I were inside getting ready. Husband came back, as I was getting out of our shower I heard a ladies voice say... put it out or get out... who talks to people like that. She didn't give us a chance to speak... this place has been horrible... it's a gossip corner, 4 in no more (a handful of people that will look up to wave), bathhouse has no privacy for showers, and husband says the mens bathroom is always nasty... we left after our month was up but understand this was not an easy choice cause we're here in Jacksonville for the Mayo Clinic, and had no idea what to do but knowing we couldn't live like that in there... we could keep on writing because there's more crap."
"We were very happily surprised at the efficacy of the office staff - being taken to the site makes a big difference when coming into a new campsite. Clean, well organized, great dog park. We will stay here again."
"Wish they had a loud exhaust quiet time. During the week there is a truck that constantly starts up around 3am and wakes us up every morning. We haven't complained nor asked to move. We love the spot we are in. Otherwise, this is a very nice place to stay. Quiet and easy interstate access."
"We recently completed a 30 day stay at Sunny Oaks RV Park (November/December 2023). Let me first say: one of the quietest parks we've ever stayed in! The grounds were kept incredibly nice, with constant attention to even small details. The lots were of pretty standard size across parks in the area, and plenty of room to park our tow vehicle in front of our motorhome. We didn't try the cable, but everything else - water, sewer, power - was solid all the time. Water was good enough to drink. The staff at the park were very friendly and helped set us up with the ability to receive mail and packages during our stay. Their mailroom was 24x7 access with a door key and very secure - mail was sorted for us as well. They had a very nice/clean laundry facility with e payments (easy to use) that we used a couple of times in addition to our on-board laundry. Access into the park with our big rig was easy and right off the interstate bypass. Plenty of retail and food services close by. They had a food truck in while we were there and a very nice "free to all" holiday dinner with the food truck providing there as well. They allow pets and all of the pets we saw were very well behaved and walked on-leash by their humans. I originally was going to take one star off on location - not something they control - but decided not to because, even though it was in kind of an industrial area, there wasn't any incursion into the park. Worst part was a little interstate noise from that close-by, but that's a trade off with good in/out access. Overall we were very pleased and it is a place we'll definitely use again if in the area. Again, one of the nicest non-chain parks we've ever been in - you can tell they care about their park! Nothing overly fancy, but that's not their gig. It was a great place to live and enjoy a relaxed and quiet environment. If you are staying for a month or a few days, give it a try!"
"We chose Sunny Oaks because the pictures online look great. And when we showed up, they were better than great. Hospitality and staff that helped us into our site were wonderful. Clean quiet campground. Sites were all graveled and pretty much leveled. I would recommend staying here for anyone and we will return."
