La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Columbia SE / Fort Jackson

"Absolutely terrible!!! Nasty!!! Part of the ceiling had a hole, the shower looked like it was installed in the 70s. The toilet was broken and we had to take the back off to get it to fill up with water. And when I told the hotel clerk, her answer was “disgusting, thanks for letting me know “ Don’t waste your money!!"

"The building looks nice and fresh from the outside but the inside is fairly worn out. Several missing tiles on the main floor near the elevators. The carpets in the room was torn up by the door and looks like it had been that way for quite some time. When the room was last painted the person painting did not tape off the window area allowing major overspray onto the windows and frame. Bed was very worn out and felt like the frame was not level. Then again, it could have been the room itself that wasn’t level. Overall totally not worth the money."

"Everything was clean. It had slight signs of age but is not a deterrent. They were very helpful at the front counter and very friendly. I asked him what discounts they had and I was able to use my AAA. The pool closes at eight, which was a disappointment and clerk wouldn’t let me ( night gal wasn’t so nice). I wanted to sit out to enjoy the night air. I had to go out back and sat on stack construction of tiles ( no where else to sit unless I sat on the curve)."

"A friend recommend we stay at a La Quinta since we were traveling with pets. My husband found this one on line while we were traveling home to Florida. He paid through a third party site, expensive mistake. The area was sketchy. Finding a clean restaurant for dinner was a challenge. The next morning my husband had bug bites on his side when researched appeared to be bed bug bites. I called to report and was told someone would call me, still waiting. Had to wash or spray all our luggage and clothing and anything we had in the car. Didn’t want to bring bugs into the house. Bad experience."

"The check in lady was very nice but that was the best part. They do let you have dogs which is nice. The hotel looked a lot nicer than what they were. I see other reviews say their room was renovated. Ours was not and was fairly dirty and run down. Our entire floor smelled of pot and there was a group of kids partying in the parking lot when we got there. All this would be fine if it was only $50/ night but it wasn’t. The location is convenient as its right off the interstate and theres a dozen other hotels around. Not sure what the area around it is like we just slept and left."
