"Be aware that there is no coffee/tea service in room, and that "housekeeping" consists only of bringing towels and emptying trash. When I called down to the front desk to inquire if housekeeping was coming back to finish the room, the "guest service" rep very curtly asked me what I wanted. For a hotel in this price range, and that markets itself as a boutique luxury hotel, I expected the bed to be made, the sink and shower/tub cleaned, dirty glasses removed, and clean ones brought, and floor (which was dirty) to be mopped. Her response? "They don't do that. They only refresh your toiletries". Wow. We'll definitely come back to Savannah, but we won't be staying here."
"Beware, this hotel is pet friendly. When we checked in, there was a dog barking its head off in the room next door. We asked to be moved, but they didn't have any of the same room type available, and they basically told us that there are noisy dogs throughout the hotel so it probably wouldn't be much better anyways! Luckily, the dog eventually stopped barking late that night, but it made for a poor night of sleep. Also, the hotel says it was recently renovated, but it still looks run down. If I go back to Savannah, I'll definitely stay at the JW Marriott instead. It looks like a much nicer hotel."
"I really enjoyed my stay at the Kimpton Brice this past weekend. Right off the bat, the valet and the ladies at the front desk were warm and welcoming! It was a busy weekend at the Kimpton, and the staff really handed it well and with smiles on their faces. Special shout out to Ebony at the front desk, who was kind and great at her job! Also loved the complimentary evening wine hour. It was the perfect way to wind down after long days walking around Savannah! Great touch that will definitely keep me coming back again and again!! The only "downside" is that this hotel is somewhat further away from all the happenings of Savannah. However, it's more quiet which is nice!"
"We didn’t have a satisfactory stay here. The main issues: noisy room, cold shower on one morning, disinterested service and dogs. We were on a ground floor suite. The window in the bedroom faces the street and you can imagine the lack of privacy. To be fair, the window looks like it is quadruple glazed with noise proof glass. You can constantly hear the dull thudding of cars driving by, but not much else. The main issues with noise come from paper thin walls, and the never ending noise from suitcases, people, dogs and doors closing from outside the room. We could literally hear word for word the people in the room next door. Awful - don’t stay here if you value your sleep and peace. We were disappointed then when the shower ran out of hot water half way through our first shower. We had to repeatedly ask for bedding for the sofa bed over 1.5 hours. The staff on the desk are friendly, but seemingly disinterested in actually taking ownership of making reasonable requests happen. This hotel is ‘dog friendly’ so much so that it felt like every second guest had one or more dogs. Our room had dog hairs everywhere particularly in the sofa and on the floor. There were dogs in the bar / restaurant. Is this a hotel or a kennel? I have never seen anything like it! Minor annoyances: there are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. You have to go for a walk to the reception in the morning to get a coffee. Too bad if you just want to chill out in bed with a hot drink. Too bad if in the afternoon or evening if you want a cup of tea. The vanity is not actually in the bathroom, it was in the hallway between the living room and the bedroom. So you go to the toilet and you have to touch door handles etc before you can actually wash your hands?!"
"I'm not even sure where to begin. I cannot imagine for the life of me how this is considered a 4 star hotel. Upon entry the smell was absolutely disgusting. I should've ran then. I proceeded to the front desk where it took more time than needed to check in because the front desk agent was yelling to her co worker from a different room, answering the phone and assisting other guest while attempting to check me in. Finally we get in our room. Unkempt to say the least. Just straight up dirty and disgusting. Hairs and a bug in the bed. Torn sheets. The shower had mold. I couldn't imagine sleeping there. I go down to the front desk to explain what happened. Tried to show pictures to the lady who checked us in. She said "I don't wanna see that". We politely grabbed our bags and let our travel agent do the rest. Ended up at The Perry Lane Hotel. Worth every penny!"
