"I would give this place ZERO stars. This place has changed completely. The cleaning was a horrible painful process. I use to go to the Fulton location in Brooklyn and the cleaning process was never painful. I went with other family members. The lady who checked my teeth told me that I needed a fluoride treatment which costed 60 dollars. I had no problem paying that but then she said I also needed a plaque removal that costed 80 each for four tooth (320 total). It sounded like a scam. I refused all of those treatments (380 total) and then a lady came in and said that I have 2 cavities. I knew something was fishy. I found out that they told my family members the same thing: they had to do fluoride treatment, 4 tooth plaque removal and 2 cavities. My family member told them that she left her credit card at home and they told her to call someone at home to give them her credit card information to charge her for these processes. I am never coming back here again. This place is a scam."
"I started going to Metropolitan in the early 2000s and they were amazing! I'm not sure what happened but over the past few years I've regretted every visit! These last few did it for me as I only went back on referral from my general dentist. He stated that once I get past the "ghetto" reception the doctor is a great one. I should have stuck to my initial feeling of never wanting to go back! They are truly unprofessional in every way. I had an appointment for 2:00 a few weeks ago, I was already returning fro a previous visit. I arrived a few minutes early and was sitting in the waiting area of Endodontics when staff from another side escorts a patient in. She explains it's the owner's friend. Well guess who was sitting in my doctor's chair at 2:00... NOT ME!!! I decided to leave as my time is valuable despite what they think! The manager assisted in rescheduling the appointment (against my better judgment). I arrive to my appointment with a very short wait time (Thanks Ann) When Dr Furoughi entered the room, he asked if I was ready. I asked if he was ready, because I was ready last time... He proceeded to over talk me and said he knows all about what happened last time. He said that I came back there made a big fuss and left after 20 mins. I tried to explain what happened but as he is leaning over me raising his voice, I said calmly I will find another dentist. He threw his arms up "Good!" He then told the girl in the hall "I'm not dealing with her!" I said No, I'm not dealing with YOU! SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME, MONEY AND HEADACHE"
"I been coming to this dentist office for years. They are very phenomenal and they have service me very well. They are the best. The staff is amazing and caring. The dentist is nice as well and very detail when it comes to questions and concern. I really enjoy coming here."
"This is not a good dental office, mainly due to the fact that the owner of it is wicked and corrupt. This office would literally have half a star if "Tammy Cruz" wasn't begging clients to leave "her" a review just because she brushed their teeth. I am not knocking her as a good worker, but what is the need to beg every client to leave a 5 star review for you? This says nothing about the office as a whole. I honestly don't understand her logic for doing so, if you seek another job, you can't pull up Google reviews and say, "see?" so what's really the point? People honestly need to stop posting reviews for "Tammy" because it is just ridiculous at this point. Remove all her reviews, and the average rating for Metropolitan Dental drops down to half a star. There is absolutely no need to go around begging clients to give you a 5 star review just because you brushed their teeth. Cohen needs to give Tammy a raise because if it was not for her, the dental office would literally have half a star rating. By people leaving nonsensical reviews such as the ones Tammy is posting at such a high rate, it is only leading uninformed people into a snake den. I am sure there are many great people that work here, I would be wrong to say there are not. But one thing I know for sure, the owner is just out right wicked. Paul Cohen, I think you need to give Tammy a raise ASAP."
"BEWARE !!! ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. This place can only be as the pits of the hottest part of hell. For starters, when you call, you will either be immediately placed on hold to listen to classical music for over 20 minutes, or you will simply be hung up on. If you finally are able to speak with a human representative please be aware that you will be greeted nastily the staff they have working in this dentist office are disgusting. Now for the bait and switch. They will say anything to get you in the office. Literally anything even going as far as lying about what your insurance is willing to cover just so you can get in the office. I was told over the phone that my insurance covered for an extraction of a tooth that has been giving me extreme pain since my initial appointment in May. I was told that the tooth would be extracted today and I had nothing to worry about and to come in for my appointment. It felt too good to be true so I should have known that once I arrived, it would be a disaster. I arrived and was made to do x-rays again despite them having my x-rays from the prior appointment however, I did not oblige. After my x-rays a longer waiting process in there waiting room just to finally getting back room and wait longer. I was informed by the doctor that he would not do the extraction without an additional commission that needed to be paid by me. The dollar amount went from $1900-$500 in less than three minutes. I also recorded this conversation because I could not believe that I was in negotiations with my Dentist. It felt as though I was in a car dealership, haggling for the best deal. Ann and the doctor exchanged looks throughout this negotiation process to see which dollar amount I would agree to paying that day so that they could enjoy a commission. I did not agree to pay anything upfront for a procedure that my insurance 100% covers. I ended up leaving the office in the same amount of pain if not more than when I arrived. Save yourself the time and the stress and please go elsewhere. Do not take Keisha’s pleasantries over the phone as niceness as she is the top contributor to the commission process. She is a snake cool say anything for a dollar. She takes commands from her white bosses, as if she is a slave on the plantation. If you are not prepared to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket in commission for the staff to enjoy do not come here."
