"We had a booking of two nights stay at the end of the Nov, 2023. However, when we arrive, we saw there were some construction outside the hotel. Not until we got into our room, we realized the pool is under construction and have an excavator parked at the center. The hotel is not suited for guests. Of course there aren’t a lot of guests. Our room is very disappointing too, very old everything. With only one tiny sink in the bathroom. The carpet looks very old discolored and a hole too. Overall, very disappointed. And we booked this hotel through chase travel. This hotel was among the top ten list in the search at Myrtle Beach. And it still is on the top list now. This is mis-leading information. Had a call with chase travel, but they say they can not do anything. We talked to the hotel. The stuff first argued that there is still an ocean view from my room, which is again very frustrating, but she agreed we can checkout early next morning, and we won’t be charged by two nights. It has been more than a week since we checked out. I don’t see the points we used for booking being returned, and had to spend more time talking to chase after being transferred three times and being on the phone for nearly an hour, finally got a confirmation from chase travel that they started the process of returning the points… I don’t leave a lot of comments, but this time, it was too frustrating and I felt this information may help people who might be considering booking this hotel."
"There once was an excavator bold, At a pricey hotel, truth be told. Blocked the ocean view, Guests exclaimed, "Boo-hoo!", Their dismay, a tale to be told. Good location, hotel in need of renovation...and it is happening when we stayed here, much to our dismay. We planned on staying for two nights but decided to cancel the second night given that it wasn't what we expected. The room was nice and quiet, but I think that was the result of their being so few guests staying here. The parking lot is a bit annoying and designed for smaller cars when the hotel was new. Checking in was a bit odd as well. There didn't seem to be a computer system but rather a print out of guests' names. The bathroom was acceptable, but the fan couldn't deal with a short shower. The shampoo and conditioner bottles are tiny. The beds were good and the sheets were clean. The carpet in the room was a bit torn up. I would not recommend staying here."
"Old, run down and apparently in the middle of renovation (which was not communicated at the time of booking months ago). All the heated pools are closed, no lazy river and construction noise early in the morning. Not exactly relaxing. There also is a resort fee for pools and fitness rooms, all of which are closed. Rooms are old, worn and dirty, and come with additional occupants. No complimentary coffee in the morning, front desk actually tried to charge for that. They had already packed everything away early by the time went up there around 10:30am. Can't recommend at this time, go somewhere else. Edit: To be fair the front desk did go out of their way to make things right. So far that alone I am revising my review to 2 stars. This will be a nice hotel once fully renovated, but in it's current condition, with renovations happening currently, I can't recommend it. The fact that they are still trying to charge a $25/day resort fee while a lot of the amenities are closed or unavailable isn't exactly OK."
"Really enjoyed my stay, the staff were more than hospitable to me and my dog (who I bring with me everywhere) so if you are traveling with a pet this is the place to check into. There is a $75 pet fee but it’s more than worth it. The rooms are a bit dated but nothing serious enough to ruin your experience. It’s on the beach so the location is perfect. Overall a solid option, definitely planning to go back."
"Carrie is amazing. We had a bad experience at a resort down the street and Carrie was amazing setting us up with a wonderful room and a even more wonderful stay. She, as well as this hotel, saved our vacation and gave us warmed chocolate chip cookies upon check in! The food at the Ocean restaurant on-site was delicious and the staff was always so friendly. Staying at this resort you get free access to the Springmaid Pier, Art Museum and Harbor Oaks mini golf course. All are amazing. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the balcony each room has offers an incredible view of the ocean. Only drawback is you can hear your neighbors when they use the water or move chairs. Also on our last night, we experienced an almost hurricane which kept causing the door to the room and the balcony to be “sucked” in and out from the wind which caused a bunch of noise and made it hard to sleep but that’s something that’s hard to help-nobody can control the weather. Overall, I’d stay here again. It’s a beautiful place!"
