"It was just okay. It's showing its age for sure. We booked through Expedia and there was a cleaning fee of over $100, and we had to make our own beds and take up the linens when it was time to leave. The beds were not the most comfortable either. We had taken our three grandkids to see the Medieval Times, and had intentionally found a place with an indoor pool. Well, the problem then is that nobody mentioned that the pool was closed. It's January folks, that's when the indoor pool is needed. No, we didn't get offered any money back for the false advertising or for the disappointment. The location was nice, but overall it was a disappointing place to stay."
"Let me start out by saying the staff I had contact with except for the maid was awesome. But unfortunately this place has become a little run down. I have been staying with the Caravelle Resort for over 35 years and this was the worst experience I've had. The first room I went into smelled really strong. I know it wasn't a smoke smell but I couldn't deal with it. The second room smelled a little but I sprayed some perfume and opened the door and it was fine. But the carpet was so worn out and ripped it was disgusting. After a while I went into the bathroom and the sink faucet was completely loose no caulking at all. I don't understand if the maid didn't notice/ report it or if maintenance didn't do their job. Well I called the front desk and she said she only had 2 other oceanfront rooms and they were in a different building. So I went to take a look at them and I was like no. At this point it's around 4 , the front desk offers to refund my money if I want to check out. I stayed because at that point I was just done. I checked out the next morning and went to a different place. I was not happy as this was my birthday weekend and this experience really ruined my weekend. I really hope they give the place an update because it is overall a great place to stay when things are the way there should be."
"Get to the hotel check in and they go on to tell me that the indoor pool is closed but we could use the outside one if we wanted to (it's 30 degrees out) they said it was heated. No thanks. Only had certain parking open and we had trouble finding anything in the garage. The TV in the room had lines thru it so was hard to really watch No extra blankets for the 3rd bed (glad my kids bring their own pillows and blankets) no toiletries in bathroom (soap, shampoo, conditioner) game room had few games that worked. Gift shop/snack shop was not open at all while we were there. I didn't see that the restaurant was open."
"My stay at the Caravelle, specifically St. Clements suites was very pleasant. The building had a really neat aesthetic and had beautiful views from the balcony. The room was clean when we arrived as well. Parking was a pain but it just added to the experience and we have a small car so we didn’t mind. The only issue we had was that the front door was not on the hinges correctly, making it very hard to open and close the door upon entering and exiting. The beach front bar was a very nice touch and was super close to our room! Overall, it was PERFECT for a weekend getaway! We would definitely stay there again."
"So this was the place we were sent to because our original resort reservation caught fire a few days before our trip. Anyway the location is literally 30 steps from the beach. The area is pretty quiet, plenty of restaurants nearby. The pool was clean and warm. Check in was a nightmare because our building didn’t have a proper lobby so we had to go across the street but it was so packed we had to wait on the Main Street for about 20 minutes before we could drive in. The first room we were assigned had a great view, horrible smell. We were transferred to another room with a decent view and no smell. The bar area by the pool has roaches. I saw a small one in my bathroom as well. The neighboring hotel with the lazy pool and hot tubs has roaches as well, and they are BOLD. The parking lot is HELL. It’s so small and they support beams are literally everywhere. Every guest I spoke to complained about the parking lot. Finally at checkout they tried to charge me the wrong amount??? It’s a good thing I read the receipt before I left. All in all it’s not a bad place, but some updates would go a long way. I would only recommend if you want beachfront accommodations, don’t mind a few roaches, and are really good at parking."
