"Had the pleasure of meeting with Kristina from LiveOnHillsborough yesterday to tour my apartment and she made it a very welcoming experience. She was very informative on the area and the floor plans available to lease. Any question I had she was quick to answer and very helpful with any concerns. They offered snacks and refreshments for me and my friend that was with me. Made us feel at home. From start to finish the application process took no longer than 24 hours. I would strongly recommend using LiveOnHillsborough for your housing needs in Downtown Raleigh/NC State."
"I lived in the 2604 building for 2 years - and I left with a sour taste in my mouth. In no particular order, here were some issues with my stay. Maintenance: Maintenance crews were slow to respond to the myriad of issues we faced during our tenancy. I waited over 3 months for a replacement for a window that shattered of its own accord - during winter. My room door fell off of its own hinges due to the screws backing out from the doorframe itself. This took 5 days to resolve. Several small issues - too numerous and inconsequential to list - meant that we never went more than a few weeks without stressing over our next visit from the repair team. At least they were polite, that is when they chose to respond. Front Office: The front office is - in a word - difficult. They are often closed due to random one-off events such as trainings or employee lunches. When you do manage to get a hold of them, they often attempt to placate your issues without following up with real action. I have been in an almost 2-month long battle with the front office over a spurious charge on my account, during which I have been promised resolution multiple times - only for said resolution to take days or weeks to appear, if it did at all. I ended up having to pay a debt recovery service to settle a debt... over money that LoH owed *me*... (In the interest of fairness, this issue has since been resolved, and I have been made whole on the amount of money owed.) Parking: This building's parking is almost a quarter of a mile away from the building itself. Enough said. Area: Directly adjacent to this building is a (now closed) Wells Fargo branch. Now that the branch is closed, the building is overrun by very aggressive homeless people, who will confront you every time you try to leave the building, often literally screaming profanities at you. Of course - none of this is to speak of the numerous other issues I faced, like the fact that I had to move in while previous tenants were still in my apartment due to a scheduling mishap - Or the fact that when we moved in, the hose connecting the dryer unit to its vent had come loose, spewing lint all around the closet, and heating the entire apartment up to the mid 80s when it was running. (This took them like 3 weeks to fix.) Please, do yourself a favor, and pass on this apartment complex. Can I promise the other student apartments in the area are better? No. But I can promise you you won't enjoy your stay here."
"Toured last spring and signed same day. At first, I was nervous about making a decision so quickly but since moving in, the staff, especially Chapman and Anthony have been more than helpful at every turn. Any community you live at will have issues but in my opinion its about how they are managed and I think the team here does a great job."
"Absolutely loved living at LOH! I first moved in here as a sophomore and really wasn’t sure how to handle everything, but the office staff were so helpful and patient with me through all my questions and concerns. Kristina at the front desk always had a smile in her face and she would reach out to me periodically to check on my lease and help me with any requests. Facilities were very quick to respond to my maintenance requests and always kept the line of communication open so I knew when they would be there. Throughout the school years the management always had some sort of activities or events going on for the residents and I never felt afraid to say hello or stop by the office for questions."
"Do not sign with this company. My first apartment (I only lived there for a month) did not have a real window. It faces a communal hallway, and has a very bright light that shines in the room at night. There is zero natural sunlight. The room also has a myriad of very loud low frequency and resonating mechanical noises, making it impossible to get a good nights sleep or to stay in the room for more than 5 minutes without going insane. I then moved apartments, as the afore mentioned one is practically unlivable, and was charged 400$ to move units (even if it was their fault I couldn't stay in the room). The new apartment reeks of mildew and I found a bed bug in the mattress. There is mold growing in the bathroom and I had to kill a cockroach my first night there. All in all, do not live here. I am very excited for my lease to end."
