The StateView Hotel, Autograph Collection 2451 Alumni Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606

"After my stay I was sent an email from Jiquan Williams, general manager of hospitality, hoping my stay went well and thanking me for staying. I informed her that though the hotel was beautiful it was lacking in many areas! Mainly customer service, I had the pleasure of ordering room service from the bar and was greeted by the rudest women iv ever met, no exasperation. She made me feel uncomfortable, if I had the energy to get back in my car after my four hour drive, I would have found food elsewhere. The menu is also completely different than the high end menu online. The “new” menu is very basic and lacking elegance that the previous one had. However, the seclusiveness hotel and surrounding area was appealing I’m not sure if it will make up for what I experienced. Assuming since the email was sent Jan 4 and I have yet to hear from Jiquan, my issues will not be addressed."

"Horrible! Every time I took a shower, I stood in 3 in of water. The tub failed to drain appropriately. Something was going on at NC State this weekend where there was a rowdy crowd in the hotel. I had a track meet above my room all night. The next day, my wife and daughter go to the hotel restaurant downstairs for breakfast. A server of Asian descent was rude and unfriendly. Mind you, she was very respectful to the Caucasian patrons. I even asked her for a cup of coffee and she acted as if I requested blood. When it was time to check out, we waited patiently with other patrons for over 15 minutes just to check out. Unbelievable for Marriott! I will never spend my money in this hotel again! As a Marriott rewards member, I'm embarrassed that this hotel is associated with Marriott. I'm a Hilton rewards member also, and I would never receive this level of service with them. Request, instead of a well timed response, please find me in your system and give me a call."

"No desk in the room but otherwise fine. The restaurant breakfast was too expensive so I passed. The pool is outdoors so not available in the cold months and the workout facilities were OK (treadmills, bikes, dumbbells, cable system), better than most econo class hotels. The scenery is very nice as the hotel is tucked away next to a small lake. The service is hit or miss but folks were friendly."

"Let me just say first guess relations was amazing especially Kyla. I'm on oxygen and needed it to be delivered. She went over and above to make sure everything went smoothly. She stayed in contact with me and made sure my oxygen was delivered to my room when I arrived. The staff was awesome including Collin who helped me with my bill and assured me my oxygen was picked up. So now the things not so good. The room was very dusty and not cleaned well. I went to plug in my oxygen and all outlets were full of dust as well as th entire area above the windows. There was a large black hair on my sink as well. I was there for 3 days and they only came to clean once. The most annoying thing was the water pressure of the sink. It took forever to wash my face and brush my teeth because the water was merely a trickle. Thankfully the shower was good with water pressure. The staff was great but for the price it was a bit disappointing."

"This is my favorite hotel in Raleigh. The service is amazing especially from GM Jiquan Williams. He is extremely sharp, friendly, attentive, and personable. I can tell the staff loves working for him and he creates a passionate workplace. The food is delicious and the atmosphere accompanies it wonderfully. The location is perfect for NC State parents and alumni in town for festivities and events. The rooms are clean and neat with amazing views. The area around the hotel is enclosed and makes visitors feels like they are in their own little world."
